Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks very much. :) Came across this guy while out exploring in the back garden with my little one.

Here are some of the details of the shot.
    The Camera: Canon EOS 40D
    The Lense: Canon MP-E 65mm 1-5x Macro
    Shutter Speed: 1/40 sec
    Aperture: f/9.0
    Focal Length: 65 mm
    ISO Speed: 1600
    Flash: Off, Did not fire

Basically, while taking this shot my main concerns were, Depth of Field and Shutter Speed. The only way to achieve a reasonable combination of these without using flash was to bump up the ISO to 1600.

The wind was a bit strong so i clasped the plants stem with my left hand while resting the camera on my left arm. A bit awkward but worthwhile in the end.

Not much PP done on this really. Into Photoshop and reduced noise with Noiseware Pro. Then ran FMs velviavision to give the image a little punch, then used USM to sharpen it a little.

Ooof, freggin' cracking photo Dave! Just twittered it too.

To think the odd time I get my macro lense out, I might get one 'good' photo. Ha, they have nothing on this!!

Can barely believe that's 1/40 second it's so sharp. Incredible shot, well done.

Kyle, you're cracking me up..... :)

Hey Clicky. Both the plant and camera were being held and supported by my left hand. Thus longer shutter speeds can be had.
