ok, here are the settings for eircom broadband:

    Settings

    Primary DNS:
    213.94.190.194
    Secondary DNS:
    213.94.190.236
    Incoming Mail Server
    (New Webmail users)
    :
    webmail.eircom.net
    Incoming Mail Server
    (Webmail Classic users)
    :
    mail1.eircom.net
    Outgoing Mail Server:
    mail1.eircom.net
    Mail Server Type:
    POP3
    more settings
    Basic Modem Config:
    Username: eircom
    Password: broadband1
    Encapsulation: PPPoE
    Multiplexing: LLC Based
    VPI: 8
    VCI: 35
    Webspace FTP Server:
    homepage.eircom.net
    FTP Server Port:
    21
    Default Web Folder:
    public_html
    Default Web Page:
    index.html

    - its PPPoE for eircom dsl broadband

    --

I have a belkin wireless G plus router here, no problem ever with it, its the cable one though, because the eircom router is sooo slow with 3mb, and fast with belkin.

dont get confused between Cable routers and DSL routers:

A DSL router: is a modem (what eircom supply to DSL costumers who want broadband) this is available with builtin WiFi wireless internet.

A cable router: is a router which enables WiFi wireless internet for you, so you can use the internet anywhere near it.

    --

try buying the cheapest in the shop with a good speed (G+, is great with 3mb broadband)

    -

    hope all this info helps!

    Tim.

    Hi again,

netgear is usually more expensive, but id say they are good.
the modem/router you linked us, is 108Mbps speed, the more the speed the speed its faster wirelessly and more via wire.

i honistly would just by the cheapest router to meet your requirements. the belkin G+wifi modem/router , works great with wireless and eircom 3mb( thats what i have) .

i have D-Link DSL-2740B got nat 2 with it first time, has alot more option than the eircom one.
for the port forwarding stuff it's great can input all the ports you need at once for each setup so no repeating steps.

I've the Netgear DG834GT for over 4 years and never had a day of trouble with it. Its rock solid, good solid wireless strength & you can load custom firmware on it also & its works with NAT2 out of the box.

You can pick them up very cheap on eBay also.

Not really. They can be unbranded & re-loaded with newest Netgear or DGTeam firmware using the Netgear flash recovery utility.
    See this excellent guide here:

You can get NAT1 on your PS3.

    Setup your PS3 through PPPOE.

    Enter user/Password

    eircom@eircom.net/broadband1

    auto the rest.

    NAT1!

Anyone else got a router that has nat 2 in a good price range?

I tried with my spear 2247 nwg-eir by updating to 2247-02 firmware ( someone told me to try it and open some ports and it would get nat2) but the router wouldnt work after updating firmware, then tried a few times but no DSL at all,
