    Hi magentas,

Thanks for your reply, Don't take this as being rude but saying that me rehoming the dog is extreme is pretty inconsiderate. You do not know my circumstances.

I would prefer to rehome him to a young family where he would have children to play with. I had a man looking at him yesterday, I think he may have been a traveller. He said he wants to use him for breeding and as a lurcher. Can somebody tell me what a lurcher is? I beleive it is some kind of show? I'm not sure.
I didn't mean any offence seagaire! it's just that there's so so many dogs being "given up" instead of people actually trying to work through whatever issues they may have. Re: not knowing your circumstances...I can only go by what you said in your post, ie. your son is leaving country and you are unable to look after the dog as he is very energetic. Therefore, I suggested working around this issue as opposed to getting rid of the dog altogether. Sorry if I offended you.

Please be wary of anyone that mentions breeding and don't give them a second thought. I don't care how un-PC this sounds but travellers in general treat dogs like crap and only use/abuse them for breeding or fighting to make money. Also, they have been known to call enquiring about dogs only to come back and steal them at a later date. I know of a few cases of this personally and would not entertain them one bit

I see from your profile that you're in Galway...why not get in touch with a local shelter and ask for their help, they may take him in and get him neutered etc and do home-checks and follow-ups to make certain he goes to the best possible home.

Again, sorry if I upset you and best of luck with your search:)

hi all about a week ago I took in a little pup as her owners didnt want her and were going to dump her and hope she'd get picked up by someone!!! Crazy I know, anwyay shes a three month old lab boxer cross and what a beauty she is! shes really mild and gentle loves to cuddle up beside me when she can but understands not to when told to do so. I cant keep her cos our house and garden are too small and we have a 10 week old baby so we have our hand full already:eek: when i walk her I dont need the lead as she'll walk/run by my side and seems fine with other dogs. I live in galway so if anyone is interested in taking her shes free to a caring home. thanks

Thankfully I found a good home for my puppy, to a couple who already have a dog and live in the countryside so happy out :)

Hi, I had previously posted this elsewhere, but had not seen this ongoing thread. I figure it's probably better to put it in here.

I have a 3 year old turtle that I am aiming to rehome. Work commitments mean that I can no longer care for it in the long term, and I'd prefer to sort a new home sooner rather than later.

The turtle is a yellow-bellied slider, and the shell is approx 8 inches long.

I'm based in Co.Meath, but am pretty much on the Dublin border.

Feel free to reply here, or PM me if you'd prefer.

    Thanks.

Oh holy god, please please do not sell this person your dog. If you are forced to rehome this dog at least educate yourself a bit and before you give (rather than sell) him to anyone NEUTER HIM. Do some research on puppy farms and backyard breeders to see what you might be letting your dog in for. Hope I'm not too late posting this, pleaes tell us this person hasn't got your dog now???

ETA I've just looked at the ad and see the dog has 'sold' across the picture, I really hope the poor dog at least got given to a nice family who will get him neutered, sigh....

Female cat, spayed, 3.5 years old. Small size for an adult cat, roughly 3kg, and very friendly. Craves attention, and loves playing fetch like a dog with some rolled up paper. She has been an indoor cat since she was a kitten, so is litter box trained.

Have to give her up due to current living arrangements; apartment isn't large enough, and I'm required to spend more and more time away from home at the moment, so it's not really fair on her.

Free to good home. Also have a ~5ft tall scratching post/tree available that can be taken with her.

    PM me for more info.

Just on the off-chance someone notices this that didn't see the post I made a few months back; looking for a good home for a neutered, playful and friendly cat. PM me if you're able to help or have any questions. Thanks, :).

    Hi all,

I am broken hearted at having to post this. I have been offered a new job in Dublin and due to work hours and trying to find a house, I feel it would be selfish to take my dog with me. I would be working 10 hour days and she would be alone all that time , and in a house where she does not know people. I am rehoming her with her best interests.

Echo is a 10month old West Highland Terrier, bright and full of beans, and so loveable. She is microchipped, purebred (no papers), not spayed. She has just finished her first heat. I would be giving everything you need, food, bed, lead, bowls, etc, and have no problem contributing to the cost of spaying her. I would need to meet you and see your home as I only want the best for my little one.

She is extremely friendly, well socialised, great on the lead, impeccable off lead when with other dogs, her recall when walking alone is improving. She is fully house trained and was crate trained from day one.

Anyone wanting more info, please PM me. (Sorry about my shoddy uploads, Im new to this!)

Attached are pictures of Buddy, who was bought as a yorkie as a pup but has grown to about the size of a cocker spaniel. He has grown up with his brother in the same home since he was a puppy and is now 3 years old. The owner says that he will not tolerate their baby of 9 months old and has growled and snapped at her so they will not risk keeping him. He has never really been socialised outside of his own home and garden (of approx. 1 acre) where the two of them were allowed to just run mad all day with very little training. He has grown up with a cat who he got along very well with but he does have a very strong hunting instinct (like a lot of terriers I suppose) so I'm not sure how he would be with small pets.
Although he hasn't met many other dogs, he would get along with a quiet older dog who was not in his face all the time (for want of a better expression).

I think he would do very well in an experienced adult home where he will not be a toy or baby substitute, where somebody just wants a companion. He is very fit and active and would walk all day. He is neutered, vaccinated and deflead up to date. In the meantime he is penned up now all day and is very depressed. His owner has decided to give it a couple of weeks and if he doesn't find a home he will be put to sleep.

If anybody can help, please pm me.

Exactly what I thought, especially as it's the owner's fault that he's never been socialised

Why do people not seem to care that this is a life they want to squash?

She really is! Heartbroken at having to give her away, but the family are so nice and they have a child who will keep her on her toes :)

Home wanted for Coda, 18 month old female black lab/setter mix.

She is vaccinated, neutered, housetrained and leash trained. She is submissive to people, great with other dogs (large and small), she even sleeps in the same crate as my GSD, her temperment is brilliant all round. Having no kids myself I cannot promise she is kid friendly but she has never made any unwanted moves towards any of my neighbours kids or kids I have met on our walks. She is also cat friendly, having lived with a cat in her last home.

    Any questions, please ask.

A gorgeous kitten followed me and my two dogs home from our walk this morning, he is very friendly, adorable and we would keep him only our cat has been hiding behind the tv growling since he arrived. I have put up signs in the local shop but I honestly think he was dumped because where he turned up was down a country lane in the middle of nowhere, I knocked on a few doors but noone knew anything, just got 'yeh, there's a lot of strays around here', nice.

Anyways, he is black & white and not neutered, I will go into the vets tomorrow to see how much it will be to have him done but I'm not sure I could afford it as i'm not working at the mo. He would need to be an indoor cat as he has just spent the afternoon lying on my lap purring (after eating a big feed) and no desire to go outside, gets on great with the two dogs and not even that interested in our cat even though she's growling at him.

    I am in Co Galway

Please pm if you are interestd, I will try and post pictures but my computer is playing up
