Due to many changes in circumstances we have to look to re-home our dog. :(
Its a tough decision and not one made lightly, He's a blue Dobberman (dont let that put you off) If anyone is interested please feel free to PM me

He's house trained and well socialised since very small and will get on with other pets when introduced.

Did you contact the breeder? That should be your first port of call if you haven't done so. If you got a contract there could be a clause to say the dog has to go back to them.

2 x 10mth old Rottie cross puppies (male & female) in the care of <snip> and in dire need of a foster home with some space, secure garden etc asap. They're beautiful dogs, but big BIG friendly bouncy babies and very strong. Some A***OLE tried to dock their tails at home so they've been seized & are having tails amputated Mon!!

All they want is space, company and someone to throw a ball for them. They're too big and bouncy to be around small kids though. Anyone that could take these babies for any length of time please let me know ASAP - Co Kildare area or surrounds only. Rescue will provide food etc

    Thanks

I appreciate the urgency here, but please don't link to ads on Donedeal, it's against the forum charter.
By all means post a picture and blurb about this dog here, but not via links to advertising websites.

Matt did you try contacting the various dog rescues on Facebook? For example I know there's a <snip> page as well as the <snip>, presume similar groups around Drogheda & Meath? Good luck hope you got it sorted

As per the forum charter, any recommendations of individual rescues should be made by PM, not on-thread.

Male ginger and white kitten looking for a good home. He was found outside a factory 2 weeks ago and was feral. He's now completly tame and is a purring machine. He's used to dogs and cats and is very playful. He's about 9 weeks old now. Any other info please pm me thanks!

Elderly lady down the road, had taken in a lovely young cat, that strayed starving, into her property a while back. (she has 2 other adopted/stray cats). This cat was pregnant and has had a litter of four beautiful kittens. They are two weeks old now, all healthy and beautiful. All black/white or white/black - two have 'smudges' of black on white rather than all one colour.

This elderly lady will keep the mother, have her neutered asap, but needs a home for the four kittens. They are not feral - mother was obviously dumped - very friendly. In the Naas area. They will be ready to be rehomed in 4 weeks. I'll try to get some photos if someone is interested.

This is a shot in the dark really, the way things are in the country I'm not expecting to have any success but I'm desperate at this stage.

My mother in law & sis in law live near us on the family farm, they have a dog, male approx 12 years old, I have tried and tried and tried and tried to get them to look after him properly but they're just not, he is either left in his shed or tied up way up on the farm away from everyone because 'he's vicious'. He's not vicious. Now, he doesn't get on with other dogs but he's great with humans, the reason they think he's 'vicious' or 'cross' is because he barks and goes mad when people come into the yard, however there's been many occasions when I've been there and had him on a lead and he's been absolutely fine when approached by people properly, the problem is people come in who are scared and if he lunges at them (whilst tied up in the yard) they have created a hoo ha and so mil just ties him up way up the farm again. They have a really really old fashioned attitude to dogs.

I go over there and clean out his shed (they have left him living in his own sh!t) and put fresh straw in, give him fresh water in a clean bowl (which they weren't doing) and clean his food bowl (he's fed scraps and slops) and take him off for walks or even just runs round the farm which he loves and he does his toilet and everything, he is clean it's just that they don't always let him out of his shed enough for him to toilet outside.

I would take him in a heartbeat but we have 2 dogs and he does not get on with them. He is getting on a bit now and I've noticed him limping a bit on his back legs, I've told them to take him to the vet which hasn't been done yet.

My husband works the farm but also works full time 12 hour days driving and I work part time and have the 2 dogs so I can't even mind him properly, it's breaking my heart and causing a rift between the in-laws and me, I was just over there now again and again with the poop in the shed and no fresh water, I don't know how many times i can say it, it's just not getting through, my mil is old and forgetful so I can almost make an excuse for her but not my sil, she works full time but not far from the house, I've had quiet words with her saying 'you need to take full responsiblity for the dog now as your mother is forgetful and sometimes doesn't know if he's in the shed or not' etc etc, she is very active in the local community and they are both holy moly church goers so I just don't get why this isn't sinking in, but it isn't.

So, if there was a home out there for him I would be so happy, I know the shelters are bursting so I'm not even going to try that road, I'm just putting this out there as i've nothing to lose and I'm really desperate at this stage. He is neutered, my husband had that done a good few years ago now, he doesn't have his vacs or anything but I know for a fact the sil would pay for all that if he got rehomed, honestly I think they would love to get rid of him, it's breaking my heart to be honest I just don't know what else to do and I feel embarassed to even post this because I can't help him any more that I am which isn't enough for him, I would dearly love to see him snoozing in front of a range with a nice old person as a companion, he doesn't need a lot of excercise he absolutely loves human company, being stroked and cuddles he can't get enough.

If anyone has any suggestions or advice or knows someone who could rehome him or a good home for him, I will travel that's not a problem.

    Thanks for reading this far.

Due to significant changes in work circumstances, we unfortunately have to rehome our 2 gorgeous dogs. They are 4 years old, shih tzu jack Russell crosses. Very friendly, playful dogs. One male, one female, both neutered. Great dogs- love going for walks, company, chasing cats etc. They sleep indoors and are in and out during the day. We really want them to be taken together as we got them within months of each other, so they are like brother and sister. Pics attached. We will provide crates etc.

I've had three female guinea pigs dumped on me by a family member and I honestly do not have the room for them, therefore I need to rehome them ASAP. They look to be approx one year old and in good health (other than overgrown toenails which I'm going to try and clip).

I'm in North Dublin and they would need to be collected as I don't have a car at the moment. Please, guys, any help here would be appreciated.

    Hi everyone
Sadly, I need to give up my toy poodle as my circumstances have changed since getting him and I'm not currently able to give him the time and attention he needs. Anyone know what's the best way to go about this to make sure that he goes to a good home?
    Thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭SillyMangoX

The best thing to do would be to contact the breeder that you got him from, most reputable breeders would have an agreement that should circumstances change, the dog would be returned to them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,676 ✭✭✭strandroad

Failing that, find a local rescue (check their reputation online). Some of them will advertise your dog while he's still with you so that he doesn't need to go into foster, and will screen prospective owners.

Can you not try other things like get a dog walker, doggy day care etc?
Lots of dogs are on their own all day but if he gets walked morn and eve he should be fine.
Sounds like you haven't even tried or want to keep this dog...

Ok i was on phone a while ago

Full situation I have two dogs and a cat...the female border collie stays in all the time and has for the last four or five years we got this dog just before the summer as a companion for her, Now aswell as starting a new job there is a number of other factors here

1st the Dog absolutley hates the cat and and on several occasions almost took off the cats head and now the other dog who loves the cat when she sees him do it begins chasing the cat aswell, she still loves the cat when on her own i found it strange actualy that she chased him too when the other fella did

2nd We used always leave the female in when we were going anywhere and she would just go to sleep and would wait for us to come home would never chew anything or pee or poop anywhere in doors, This fella although he is toilet trained can't be left alone for a second as he chews everything upto and including bits of coal

3rd We can't take him for walks as he just flat out refuses to be on a lead and when he gets off he runs as fast as he can away from us where as the other one won't move from my side no matter what lead or no lead

Basiclly what I'm trying to say is we got a 2nd dogs (my idea) and it didn't work out and mine and my girlfriends hearts are broken so no smart remarks or anything please as this is hard enough as it is

The OP is looking for a home for his dog.
I thought that was pretty obvious in both the thread title and the opening post.
Can we stop the accusatory Spanish Inquisition please? Nobody here knows the full scenario behind this rehoming, and are leaping to conclusions regarding the OP's intentions without knowing any of the facts of the matter.
Only questions related to helping the OP find a home for his dog from this point on please.

A member of my family needs to rehome his dog urgently. He's a lovely JRT x Irish terrier, about the size of a Parson Russel. He's 8 years old, full of beans, and ball mad.

The reason he needs a new home is because of a change in circumstances meaning he's not getting the exercise he needs. He also snapped at my family member's toddler and now the child's mother has lost trust in him, especially as she has impaired movement. He did not bite the child, he bared his teeth and air snapped.

I've offered to take him for a while, but can't keep him long term. He really is a lovely dog who would suit as the only dog in a house with no children.

I have a 6 year old female rotweiller (neutered)

Very very friendly and quiet. I walk her an hour a day and feed her. Due to moving apartments I have no way of taking her with me, Im very upset over this

I would love her to go to a caring home. I could even pay for the dog food and come past and walk her everyday if someone is just needing a dog as a companion?

I am in the Dublin 7 area and would really appreciate a loving home for her

Very friendly dog towards both people and other dogs, my dog is very well known in the area over the years due to being walked all the time

I found three pet rabbits last week who I think must have been dumped. I've been looking after them for a week or so now but nobody's turned up to claim them. I'd love to find a caring home for them if anyone's interested but i'd like to keep them together as they're from the same family i'd say. If anyone's interested please let me know. I'm in county Cork.

First of all, I have read the charter and I hope that I'm not breaking the no-sales rule as I'm not looking for money. If I am please remove and accept my apologies.

I have two male ferrets that require a good home. These are available FREE OF CHARGE to the right home only. They were born at the end of May this year. They are full brothers and both parents can be seen.

I am only re-homing as I already have 6 ferrets and can't give them all the attention that they deserve.

I bred a litter of 5 this year from my own jill and hob as I wanted another jill and the adults I have are beautiful specimens. Unfortunately, selling them to suitable homes was a lot harder than I thought and I turned away a lot of customers that I just didn't like. I'm not going to make personal comments on why I didn't like the look or sound of some people but I'm happy with my decision to turn them away. A loving home is more important to me than a few euros. The two that I did sell both went to really nice people as much loved pets.

I realise now that I probably shoudn't have bred the litter and I'm sorry that I did so please don't attack me for being irresponsible. If I cannot find a home for them then they will stay with me.

If you are interested in re-homing one or both of these beautiful and intelligent animals please PM me.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, sorry if it's not or if it's not allowed.

Just wondering if anyone could help me in rehoming this beautiful little cat. She is neutered and about 1.5 years old. She had 2 kittens very young who remained in her original home, however she seems to not be able to stand living with them now that they are a bit older, aabout 8 months. She refuses to go back in to her original home and as such her original owners have stopped feeding her and she is esentially homeless and sleeping in piles of leaves.

I work mon-fri 9-5 where she is roaming wild, she is constantly starving as I am the only source of food which she has, and I sneak her in to my office during the days so that she can get some warmth. She is in no way wild, she is extremely tame and affectionate, really sweet and playful. She is the perfect cat for rehoming however I have tried with Cats Aid and other organisations but they have said they are too full to take her.

I am very tempted to take her myself but I already have a 5 year old male cat and I don't know how he will take to her.

Could anyone help with her rehoming, to a committed, safe, loving, forever home?

5 and a half year old male pedigree doberman. IKC registered, vaccines up to date. Has been our family pet since he was a pup, very friendly and just loves plenty of attention and walks. Is house trained and follows standard commands - sit, stay, lie down, give paw etc.

30 inches tall to shoulder so slightly above average for a doberman.
