I really wish I could help too, not what you want to hear when you're looking for a home for him but I have a lot of cats too and it wouldn't work for your little fellow. I think you and your sister are some kind of angels to try so hard for him and I send you hugs for what you're doing. It's anything but easy. J.

    Hi all,

Am looking about re homing a beautiful beagle pup. He belonged to my Mother who passed away suddenly in June.
I really wanted to keep him for her but with a new baby, it's just become too much to handle. I think he's a purebred but we never found any papers so probably not registered. He is vaccinated until March of next year, not chipped and not neutered. He's 9 months old and still very much a puppy! He's good with the basic obedience but as he's a beagle he pull on the lead if he smells something nice and his recall would be unreliable (as with all beagles!)
He is great with my son and absolutely loves other dogs. He does chase my cat but it's more for play and he doesn't hurt her.
Is fully house trained and will go to his crate at night. Big sweetheart and I hate to see him go. I could sell him but I'd be afraid he would be used for breeding or hunting. I would like him to be a family pet where he could get plenty of exercise and attention.

Please pm me if you are interested or who anyone who might be.

He's had previous injuries, especially to his face so he's not conventionally handsome but I think he's beautiful!

P.S sorry about the quality of the pics.

Oh dear, those photos, the poor cat! He was very lucky to meet you and your sister... Wish we were in a position to take him on, but you've earn yourself some big karma points. Hope he finds his furever home

I am looking to rehome a female, 8 month old Boxer/Lab cross. The dog has been in foster care for the last 8 weeks but the owners now want to put the dog into the pound.

The reason why the owners are not keeping her is because they have three young kids who quickly grew bored of the dog and the mother was left to look after a hyper puppy (unfortunately, a regular occurrence with new dog owners!)

She's a very good dog, doesn't chew or misbehave and has been around other dogs all her life so is well socialised. She is currently living with a family with two young kids (a 4 year old and 2 year old) and is excellent with the children. If you are interested, want any information or pictures, please send me a PM.

I'd love to take her Ashbx as we had boxers for years and loved every one of them but we're surrounded by sheep farmers here and I couldn't take the risk. I hope someone can help you soon. Good luck.

    Hi everyone,

With a lot of sadness, I am trying to find a home for a beautiful 11 year old tabby cat. I hope someone here can help.

She is shorthair tabby, neutered and chipped. She has always been an indoor cat. In good health as of her last vet checkup.

She’s happy as an only cat at the moment, though she did live with another cat for many years. She’s very independent, but loves a bit of attention - she’ll let you know when it’s time (and she has a marvellous loud purr when she's getting her head scratched)! I think she’d be best in a house without small children, unless they really know how not to crowd her.

I’m in Dublin, but I will travel anywhere - I have litter trays and a carrier for her too.

Please PM me if you or someone you know can help find a home for this older lady. I have photos (can’t attach them because of the post count, but PM me if you want to see her)

    Hi there everyone,

I am in the process of trying to find a new home for a 5 year old small mixed breed dog. She is my youngest of two dogs and my eldest (her mother) is getting put to sleep this week.

She is a beautiful sociable dog and interacts extremely well with humans.

Below is the link to my adverts.ie advertisment for her.....

    Thanks for any help offered....

    Kind Regards,

Surely you could try and see how she gets on without her mum before doing something so drastic as rehoming her?

I'm sure if she had a choice she would prefer to stay with the people she knows than with strangers she doesn't know. Even if she's on her own?
I really don't think that's a valid reason to rehome her. Not sure why or how anyone could do this especially as her mother is being pts. Now you want to rehome her daughter? It doesn't make sense...

Sorry subscriber, but we don't allow links to advert sites on this forum, this includes adverts.ie
You are however welcome to post photos and information about the dog in this thread. It may be helpful to include whether or not the dog is up to date with vaccinations, is micro-chipped and neutered.

I'm really really stuck. I have 3 dogs, 1 small male 1 small female and one big female. The two girls have really stopped getting along. Thursday the fought 3 times within a few hours and the last fight resulted in the smaller dog requiring extensive emergency surgery and a short stay in the vet hospital. Unfortunately I got a small bite breaking up the fight. I am now in the situation where j have to rehome the bigger dog to a home where she will be the only dog. Also would prefer she was with older children.

Aria is 10 months old. She is a beautiful German shepherd husky cross. Loves her walks. Will do anything for a treat. House trained with her crate. (Of course her giant crate will go with her-it's the perfect size she can stretch out in it) she will also have her head collar and leads along with her furminator and I will buy a bag of food to go with her too. Fully vaccinated and wormed and I've another worm and flea dose here to give her too.

I really urgently need help on this as I'm not sure I can physically deal with another fight and my little girl is very hurt.

Hi, I work in a residential home for adults with physical disabilities in Dublin.
One of our residents had bought himself a rabbit for company. A beautiful lady rabbit. Unfortunately, through no fault on his behalf, the rabbit has begun to bite and kick. The staffs roster in the home does not allow for 1 or 2 persons to look after the rabbit. There are too many people involved and not all with a great know how when it comes to handling rabbits. The poor little thing is frightened and started to defend herself. The staff are now understandably very reluctant to handle the rabbit. This is not a loving relationship between rabbit and owner anymore. We need to find a new home for the rabbit urgently. Can anybody on this forum offer her a kind home?

Hi Bobobelle, this forum is mostly cat and dog focused. Look for the Irish guinea pig and rabbit group on facebook. It is a closed group and you will need to join before you can post there but there are some excellent rabbit rescue people there who may be able to help you.

I'm seriously considering getting a kitten for my daughter for Christmas. I see posts on here about older cats and I feel bad for not offering, but it's important for me that the kitten grows with my young daughter and she is witness to that process.

If anyone has a litter of kittens and is looking for homes do get in touch. I had a cat at aged 8 and she lived to 19 years old, so I'm well used to minding cats.

How young is young? Because a kitten is a nice fur ball of claws until about 1 year old after all which may not be what you're after :P

We have a rule that we don't allow threads looking for pups in the run up to Christmas. We have never needed to implement the same rule for kittens as kitten season doesn't start until spring.

Why does kitten season start in Spring ... just curious! :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,963 ✭✭✭Cherry Blossom

Because cats come into heat and breed prolificly when the weather is warmer.

    HI all,

Hope this is the right place to post. I'm really stuck and trying to rehome a pet whippet.its a really tough decision but due to a promotion in work, I will be spending a large amount of time in the Uk.He is a very friendly well mannered pup but being a 10 month old whippet is quite needy and has to be around human company for large parts of the day. Sadly I cannot give him that and need him rehomesd b4 Jan 4th. Is anybody on here looking for a wonderful companion dog. I would need to see your house and obviously vett you first. I love this dog but it's a tough decision and one I never imagined I'd have to make. He is 10 months old and a couch potato but loves a 30 minute walk. He is also a very good with kids and in great health. He is an indoor dog and would not suit somebody looking to leave a dog in their back garden all day. DM me for more details photos etc. Cheers

Not wanting to break any rules but if anyone is able to offer a home *and unable to find a suitable pet on here* then perhaps they could begin with their local rescue group? Of course search this thread first!

Many of these groups have young kittens (only a few months old) that are being fostered at present, either rescued themselves or their mother had been rescued, and would make wonderful pets. Cats can have up to three litters of kittens a year, and although more likely in spring or summer there aare kittens born year round.

Also these groups usually have good processes for ensuring the new owners are genuine and can provide a suitable home.

One contact list is below, google or facebook searches will find more.

    Hi guys,

I have 5 cats living in my backgarden near my shed for the past 7 months. Living in Galway. Three of them are about 6-7 months old.
The local shelters don't have room. I'm away most of the time, so I'm unable to feed or take care of them.

They're fairly tame at the moment, but shy, and could be adjusted to live in a home.
It would be great to get them a home, as they are currently barely surviving, and have been struggling for months now.

If you are interested in taking one or several, send me a PM and I'll try to get back asap.

Cat needs a new home due to landlord selling house.

    >>Vincenzo is a handsome 4 year old, neutered, White Turkish Angora cat. He is
bright, friendly, playful, independent and also cautious with people he doesn't know.
It takes time for him to gain your trust, but once he does he has a great desire to
interact with you and he will be your constant companion. He is easy to take
care of and he likes outdoors alot. He will always rest and sleep in one place once
given a safe and sound spot.<<

he is suitable with other cats in the house (i have 2 cats and there are many other cats in the neighborhood) and he is afraid of dogs. he is not litter trained, because there was no need for this, i think he can be trained. he got worm treatment, but he isn´t vaccinated.

Not sure if he would be happy to stay indoors for the rest of his life.

He needs to get brushed once a week, because of long hair. He loves being brushed, he gets the full attention.
He is not the cat which sits on your lap and wants to get cuddled for hours. 15 minutes per day makes him happy, short and meaningful, that is him.
    Located in the Cork area.
    PM me if interested. Thanks

I have this cat confined in a garden shed and I'd like to give it away this week. It's not socialised and hisses when I feed it.
It was taking over the space and food of a tame family cat so I trapped it just to give the family cat some relief. I confined it to a shed where I've fed it for a couple of days just to assess its temperament.
If you're in west Co. Dublin/Kildare and would like the challenge of socialising this nice tabby then you're welcome to it.
Otherwise I'm returning it to its former home after neutering hoping it'll avoid the family cat.

I have two beautiful cats that I need to rehome or foster either together or separately. This is a very difficult decision for me to make and It breaks my heart to let them go but I would be happy if I knew that they were in a good home. Jasper is black with a white apron and four white paws he is very independent and likes the freedom to roam but is also very fond of being indoors. Kit Cat is white with grey tabby markings. He is a house cat but also likes to wander outdoors, sometimes. They are very shy cats and would need a very quiet home in the country,no children or other pets.as they startle easily. I would prefer to foster them for about six to nine months as i will be abroad. but I would love to see them in a happy forever home too. If fostering I would be willing to pay all their expenses. This is an opportunity for someone who is not sure if having pets suits them in the long term. I hope that this is ok to post here.

This nice little tabby is now neutered so if there's anyone at all interested in socialising her...
She's in good health, between 6 and 12 months old, and now sports a tipped right ear.
If no takers then on Friday I'll return her to the rural location where she was trapped.

If you got him from a rescue centre, you need to notify them, reputable rescues have a clause in the adoption contract that they will take the dog back if necessary

Unfortunately need to rehome one of our greyhounds. She was left at our house by the breeder and has never raced. She was 3 years old in March. She's a very small girl at only 20kg. She's toilet trained and crate trained. Neutered and vaccinated.

The reason she is looking for a new home is our other hounds never took to her and recently began attacking her. She had to have her leg stapled a few weeks ago after a bad bite. She gets on great with every size dog but is not cat friendly.

Can pm photos and more info if needed!

    Hi

I have two border collie pups for re-homing. They are 8 weeks old and will be vaccinated before they go. Both are male. They are quite big for their age but still fat little bundles. One has "panda" type markings, he's quite beautiful. The other (also beautiful) looks more like mum (see pics). I am willing to drive to bring them to their new home(s).
