Good home wanted for a beautiful female collie, 6 years old. She is very friendly, loves people and is fantastic with children. Moderate exercise needs - she loves a run but as she is cruising into middle age, her energy needs are not too demanding. Unfortunately, she needs to go to a home that is free of cats as she does not tolerate them. I can PM pictures to anyone who is interested.

If I thought for a split second Opie would tolerate her, I'd be on that so quick. She sounds utterly delightful. Really hope you get her sorted!

Ah thanks :) I would keep her myself except I have so many cats that she simply wont tolerate. She's delightful.

I'm looking for a good home for a kitten, he was found in the bog 4 weeks ago very thin and hungry. He's around 3 months old, very friendly but a bit nervous so might not be suitable for a home with small kids.

A work Colleague is looking to rehome her son's dog(with his full permission) his owner is away in UK most of the time and they have been doing their best to care for Rocky, but winter is coming and they are very worried about Rocky, as the owner will be continuing to work away for the foreseeable future.
Rocky is a boxer cross akita dog who's owner has got work in England and has been there since March, his owners sister had been looking after him, walking him and feeding and spending time with him, but she has gotten a job her-self recently, and has her own family and dogs to look after, as does my colleague. Rocky is not getting the care and attention that he deserves, Rocky is very good around Children (his owner has his children visiting weekends), and adults alike loves the attention given him as any Dog does, but hes is NOT very good with other male dogs, over the last few months Rocky is mostly an outdoor dog, but is used to being inside the house when his owner is home or with other family members. Hes not a barker, hes very affectionate, quiet and good nature, just 3 years Old. He walks well on the lead once his excitement at being walked dies down, he is walked every day at the moment and needs the regular exercise.
They would like to see him go to a home with someone experienced with large dogs (he is very big), who has the time for him.
PM me for more details, they will be asking a lot of questions, and are very upset that they have to do this.

    Hi all,

I have three beautiful 12 weeks old kittens looking for homes. I'm based in Sligo.

They come from a family of strays I rescued.

There are 2 males and 1 female. They have been wormed, litter trained, well socialised with other cats. I have started their vaccinations, they are due their second vaccinations in about 3 weeks, which are prepaid for in a vets in Sligo.

I can also have them spayed/neutered before rehoming.

If you are interested or know someone who might be, please message me for more information.

Well good news for Rocky, no one showed any interest in him, so his owners sister has been trying her best to tire him out and yesterday a tired and well fed rocky moved in with her and her family, so far the two male dogs are getting on fine, her bitch is still afraid of rocky so being very careful as he could swallow her in one gulp!
But hopefully this will work out.

Hi, I'm looking to find a new home for our dog. We took him in from a friend who had to move overseas and it is just not working out.

He is a husky cross and the vet thinks he has a bit of lurcher in there too. He is lovely - so wonderful with the kids (who are quite young), they climb all over him and he's in all their games and he's very affectionate with us (he likes to sit on my lap despite him not being a lap sized dog!) The problem is he is quite anxious and does not like being left alone. I work, but only 3 hours a day and only down the road so we thought it would fine but he is not happy (we're getting peeing on the floor and chewing of things a lot). We live in a small house and he really needs somewhere with more outside space and with other dogs to keep him company and run around with him. He has a bit of a dodgy hip (slight hip dysplasia) which we didn't know when we took him in and it needs more regular exercise than we can give too (even just time outside to run around)

I feel terrible because the kids are mad about him and because he has been rehomed already but we're struggling and nobody is happy. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and honestly, a really lovely doggy. We'd like to find a good home for him where he will be properly happy. Please PM me if think you can give him that home.

maybe get a daily dogwalker while you're out? that would eliminate the chewing and weeing?

    Hi all,
A good friend of mine is caring for this lovely rabbit. He's a male, about 6-8 months old, and was found in the middle of a woods in the southwest of Ireland, presumably dumped there... He hopped right up to the good people who took him home. He's a friendly, nice chap, actively looks for human company and is easy to handle:) He's cute too, huh?:)
No owners have come forward, and my friend just can't hold onto him for much longer.
She's looking for someone to adopt him who knows what they're at with rabbits, who've owned them before, and who have a good, safe set up for them. She feels he'll make a great house bunny.
If you're interested, please pm me.
    Thanks!

Aw he is lovely!!! I run a small animal boarding facility called The rabbit rooms, and would be happy to post this little guy up for you if you would pm
Me his details and yours ? I also have a friend who runs a similar set up in Kerry (we are in dublin) so I'll ask her to do so too.. but transport can usually be worked out for these things.. we often do this and sometimes we are lucky and get them rehomed .. worth a try anyway!

This affectionate, super smart dog has just turned 3 & is an absolute sweetheart, despite his very tough start in life. Buster was rescued when he was 1, found starving & frightened in Ballymun. He has spent the last year with a young family & 2 other dogs who’ve done an amazing job in rehabilitating him to be the happy, confident little fella that he is today. Buster is an active dog who loves walks, games, swimming & company. He's approximately the height of a typical Jack Russell but has a longer body. We are not sure of his breed – we’re guessing that there may be a bit of Pomeranian & Golden Retriever in him.

Buster gets on well with other dogs (but not so much with cats!). He can be a little nervous when meeting new people because of his past, but soon warms to them and becomes the loveable boy that he is. He is fully house trained, knows numerous tricks & commands. As you’ll see from the picture he also has partaken in Dog Agility Competitions. He even made it onto the National Team to represent Ireland at a European Championship!

Buster is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and will make a wonderful pet for one very lucky person or family.

Due to a change in circumstances I very sadly need to find a new home for my 6 year old male Jack Russell.
He is a lively, bouncy little dog, full of fun and very playful.
He enjoys walks, playing with toys & balls, cuddles, and treats.
He loves children but is not a fan of cats!!
He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and fully housetrained.
    Home check applies.

Please PM for pictures/further details. Thanks!

This is Sparky, he's a collie/terrier mix and about 8 years old. He was a rescue dog that we took in 7 years ago. He's very clever and friendly but quite nervous around other dogs and kids.

I think he would be ideal for someone a little older looking for some company.

If you have any questions please PM me.

    That's a lovely looking dog. It's a shame I'm not in Ireland.
    Why is he being rehomed?

He is a lovely dog and clever too! I don't want to have to rehome him but I'm fighting a losing battle.
We have a young child and he's not great with kids, also walking him is a nightmare, I've spent countless hours up in the DSPCA doing numerous training courses but he just can't cope when he's on the lead and there are other dogs around.  I think he'd be great for someone if they had a big back garden he could run around in and no kids!  He's been living with my mother for the last 6 months and she's given me an ultimatum to find a new home for him because she doesn't want to look after him anymore.

Hi guys, my mum has 5 Collie/lab dogs - 2yrs old now. we tried desperately to rehome them when they were puppies but only managed to find 1 a home. we asked our local rescues for help also but they wanted to send them to UK - maybe this is all legit but at time it made us feel uneasy. they're lovely dogs and my mum loves them to bits (we all do) but they have obviously grown full size and have taken over her home, garden and garage and shes struggling to cope now.  theres also a risk on the road we live on - its basically a rat run in the morning and evening and shes constantly worried one will get out from garden and get knocked down. she has cats also and loses 1 at least every fortnight and drivers don't even stop!
there's 2 males and 3 females. all vaccinated and females are neutered. we still have the mother dog - she was pet/farm dog for an elderly relative of ours that we kept when he moved into a nursing home. she is also a very placid friendly dog.

I can't help with the dogs but I had to comment on this bit. If you're losing a cat every fortnight then it's time to bring them inside or create a more secure outdoor environment.

I know things are probably tough with all the dogs but how many more cats need to die?!

We are moving home (unwillingly) and cant keep cats in our new home, so we need to find someone to take 2 mature (female, neutered) cats.

Can anyone recommend a good place to contact about getting them re-homed, or am I kidding myself that someone would want 2 mature cats?

I have heard bad things about some rescue places where the cats end up in cages all day & night and tbh I'd rather have them put down than put them through that! Obviously, I'm trying to avoid anything drastic though!

My heart goes out to you, it's a tough position to be in when it comes to pets we love. I'd suggest putting up some photos if you have a chance, it think it makes it easier for people to actually see the pets for themselves. Don't give up hope, it might take a little time but cat lovers have soft hearts and you just never know. I have just about achieved harmony in our house with 2 indoor cats and a new dog so I can't help you myself, much as I'd like to take them. I don't know anything about shelters but others will and I'm sure they'll be along to help out. Keeping good thoughts for you.

Dont trust strangers looking for pets, find a rehoming organisation, people do adopt older cats for many reasons, perhaps they themselves don't want to raise a kitten, maybe they feel to old themselves to outlive the cat, lots of reasons , my friend adopted a 7 year old cat that was house trained as she has disabilities, good luck

Have you thought of putting up a notice, preferably with pictures, in your Vet's waiting room? As far as I know, most of them offer the opportunity and at least you'd know that it'd be seen by pet people, known by your Vet? I really feel for you and as an official "crazy cat lady", I can't get your two out of my mind, I wish I could wave a magic wand for you. J.
