Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My Primastar van keeps blowing bulbs, I'm changing them every week, its got to the stage where I dont have my fogs & headlights on at the same time so when one set blow, I can switch to the other to get me home.

People have said "Oh the electronics in that van aint good, always give problems" but can anyone tell me what exactly causes it??

    Thanks in advance...

Sorry - couldn't help it. I've had several of these for work and never had a problem with them, I'd suggest you invest in an hour with an auto electrician who will see if your reg/rec is supplying over voltage. Damaged wiring can cause intermittent shorts and these will blow bulbs too.

Also, never handle the glass on the bulb. This can cause hot spots with resulting bulb failure.

afaik if its a 12V bulb powered by a 12V battery the only thing that could be producing more the 12V is the alternator and its regulating electonics. So I'd check if the regulator is in the Alternator itself which they normally are and then change the Alternator anyway thats where I'd start looking.

Only thing I know about Auto Electics is that most mechanics don't want to know about it - its a Black Art to most of then ;)
