Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Renewable energy college course
Hi I have put RENEWABLE ENERGY AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT lev7 no.1 on my cao. I just thought it sounded interesting and everyone says the future is in renewable energy and the like. I could do some business course but I'd rather do something different. I've read up the modulus and subjects include ELECTRONICS, ENGINEERING SCIENCE, ENGINEERING MATHS, ELECTRICITY, INSTRUMENT TECHNOLOGY. Are these hard?..... I'm having second thoughts.

All 3rd level courses are "hard" if you don't apply yourself to them . Select something you think will will enjoy . When you enjoy what you do - hard work doesn't feel so hard .

What did you expect the course to cover?

If you attend your lectures and tutorial sessions each week you will find that you will find easier to understand the topics.

Each year I see students who decide to skip a few weeks and then struggle through the academic year.

Third level can be very different to second level in that your understanding of the area and its application is examined through out the year using continuous assessments etc

What do you mean lighten up?
I only asked a question, and a relevant one at that.

The OP is questioning whether the course is different from his expectations, how different it is and whether that difference will make it more difficult. The obvious starting point is to find out what the OPs expectations were in the first place.

If you want to read some criticism or sarcasm into that, that's your perogative, it doesn't mean that any was meant.

It depends on your aptitude, a lot of math will be involved in electrics and electronics, if you're that way inclined you'll find it very interesting.

Welcome to the future, good luck with it.
