Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Damned electronic gates!

    Lads , leaving work every day its like a race. The gate starts opening , you tear in jump into your car, slowly reverse and navigate out of your spot ( very tight car parking) but now your arse nemisis the electronic gate is beginning to close.

    Your only option is of course is to GUN it and try to get the tip of your car to break the beam, but at the last minute you realise you wont make it , but you still think if you jump out you might be able to break the beam with your leg. You pull the handbrake unfortunately not far enough as , you forget your still in 2nd gear, you jump out of the car, suddenly realise its still moving, only 5 feet from gate now.

    The ultimate choice, break beam with your foot and hope to jump in to your car it successfully makes its way out or admit defeat and try to save your paintwork. I regretfully inform boards i chickened out dived across the front seat and almost tore the handbrake out of the car i pulled it up so hard. Car of course stalled and jumped and was the width of the smiley face from hitting the gate :eek:

    I'll be back! You just wait Mr Electronic gate, vain of my existence :pac:

    try parking so that you can drive out straight for the gate. it cant be that hard

    If an electronic gate has out smarted you, then you should not be driving.

    Why do you not have the code for your work car park? Could you not just ask someone what it is?

    Only 20 spaces are set up with their phone numbers on the system and thats the limit. And while a few of them are away theinquisitor comes out to play

    I could walk its only 5 min or share a lift with someone else in my house that goes to work in the same place, but hey minding the environment if for hippies. And last time i checked * SNIFF SNIFF* im no hippy! :D
