hey Im giving my first sax lesson on wednesday and thought here would be the best place to ask,

what should I go through first? he already plays the bag pipes so is down with theory. I still have my first music book so should i just go through it slowly with him?

It depends, I guess. If, as it sounds, that he's completely new to the instrument (albeit with experience of the bagpipes his breathing is likely to be good) I reckon you should start with the fundamentals. How the instrument works, etc., and just build from there. Or think of how you learned the instrument yourself, or how you would've changed the way you learned it.
