Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Passed Test - Naas

Passed my test yesterday in Naas. Talk about nervous. Tester was sound, clear instructions etc. Just starting back into bikes, rode them in US about 16 years ago so never properly trained so started from zero.

Got 3 lessons and pre test from ABC Motor Cycle Instruction, great way to learn as they use Leinster Driving Campus which I never knew existed till I booked the first lesson. Brilliant setup to get started on. Tony and Gerry there are sound.

Now to look at buying a bike and build up more experience, do some more training. As an middle aged fart - delighted I did it. Happy days! :D

Ta! Kind of thinking about a trailie, I'm a lanky sod 6' 4" so something tall. Was thinking about a DL 650 V-Strom, not the prettiest but its a V-twin and seem to handle the restriction OK. Have a soft spot for the Africa Twin also but that would be going back in years.

Want something sensible to build experience on that won't cost the earth. Dunno really, suggestions welcome. Budget would be around 4k I suppose.

Sat on an F650GS and thought it felt cramped. Like the bigger BM's but nobody would wave at me so can't buy one of them :D

Whats the story with buying a bike, is it possible to take one for a spin or how does it work in relation to trying something before you buy?

They're nice - sat on a KLE in a bike shop and really liked the position and feel of it.

The yamaha is a lovely bile also. Going on holidays in two weeks so nothing going to happen until Sept / Oct. Must spend a few days wandering around some bike shops and try sitting on a few.
