Hi all. Does anyone have any experience of these guys. I was in Miltown Malbay this year and saw Matt Cranitch playing a few times and loved it (although im traditionally not a fiddle fan at all).

I've seen a few albums from Sliabh notes online and I adore the Sliabh Luachra music which they seem to play a lot of. Anyone any tips on whether they have and cds worth buying?

    Heres two videos I've found.

I saw them play in Dublin a few years ago and they were brilliant. Recommend the albums, especially the first one. Apart from the great tunes, Tommy has a few nice songs.

Yeah they're a lovely change from some of the frenetic jigs and reels from most bands, nice to hear the polkas and slides played, they don't get enough attention in sessions at all.

They're great at the trad stuff but also do a bang up job on bluegrass tunes too. Get their self-titled album, you won't be dissapointed. Well, you might be; they tune up to bloody E flat!!

Wouldn't bother me. One of the brighter points of playing whistle.:D
