Hi,

If you like Wilbur Smith (I hated him, could only read 100 pages of one of his books before giving up) then give Patrick O Brian a go. He's a great author, who wrote 21 swashbuckling adventure novels starting with 'Master and Commander'. His series later became a fine film with Russel Crowe as the lead.
