Is it possible to do a PhD in Dublin with a 2.2 degree (maths) ?

    Would having a masters help?

AFAIK, for TCD at least, if you have a 2.2 you will need a special "dispensation" from the dean of graduate studies. So you (or your potential supervisor) would have to provide reasons why you should be allowed to register with a 2.2. Good reasons would be a masters, or the equivalent relevant work experience. (I know cos I got into a phd with a 2.2!).

Not sure about the other unis but I would imagine it would be similar.
