Dont think its true for the mens. Isnt enough players that are able or willing to play superleague for them to stop taking foreign players to boost a teams level.....

The new thing is that teams will be restricted to 1 American rather than two, this is for financial reasons moreso than anything else

Ugh, such a bad move for the league. Bosman rule still there I presume?

Thats a pretty stupid rule seeing as we all know your game gets better when you play against better players..

It's just response to the economic realities of the situation really. Some teams are struggling to pay off current debts, paying for Americans is far too much to ask of them. Vincents have been without Americans for two years now haven't they? I look forward to seeing the impact on the league, might not be a terrible thing.

No Amrican's playing for Vincents(now DCU Saints) not strictly true , last season they had a guy called Casey Ortiz (shooting guard) and resident American/ Irish Mike Trimmer(6'8" door stopper), I believe both players played for no fee or monetary reward,,, just the love of the game . It's great to see a sport being played by sportsmen etc .!
