Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know anything about this yet ?

Smith states "a new agri-environment payment will also be introduced for farmers who are not participating in the scheme".

PR move unfortunately....the scheme will have limited funding -200 million and may be much more selective. Will run along the lines of the countryside management scheme in the north

agree. It's probably only a sop thrown out to try to pacify the farmers. If there is substance in it, it may be good, but without full details, its just a question of jame tomorrow, without knowing if its a spoonful or a pot!

sorry to put a damper on things lads , but its only a simple attempt to get the farmers to vote yes to lisbon, biffo knows only too well how much he is hated now, and im saying this as a member of ff who will not vote ever again,
my hedge cutter is staying put this year in the corner of the shed , thanks to fianna fail, and their greedy associates, farmers cant afford to keep food on the table for their young families let alone cut hedges, or clean drains.
so in my eyes its a scam this whole promise

New update on this payment in the Indo today.

    http://www.independent.ie/farming/slow-agriplan-talks-spark-cash-worries-1938374.html

One important fact here "unless a new scheme is approved by the December deadline, money allocated to it from the European economic recovery fund will be reabsorbed into its central budget."

Following up with what seems to be some horrid information on the new scheme..

locky76; you were'nt far off with your thoughts some 6+ months ago :)

Payment rates will be reduced from €242/ha to just €75/ha for farmers in a special area of conservation (SAC), special protected area (SPA) and national heritage area (NHA) as well as non-designated commonage areas in the new Agri-Environment Options Scheme (AEOS).

How do we know if we're in or not in a Natura 2000 area?

How do we know if we're in or not in a Natura 2000 area?

    I would assume disadvantage area's..

Natura 2000 payments are noted as payments to compensate costs and income forgone resulting from disadvantages in the areas concerned related to Natura 2000 definition.
Initial Max of €500 per ha, Normal max of €200 per ha
