Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No-one else has said anything here, so I must be the first one to get a reply?

I got a reply from Arsenal on behalf of Samir Nasri. I got two 'photocards', one of himself and one of the 2008/09 squad. And, got a matchday programme for their final league game of last season at home to Stoke.

So for anyone who sent one to Arsenal, it looks like your chances of getting a reply are good.

I'm up for this, can I still do it?

Send one to Joey Barton for the laugh saying that you admire the way he
controls his emotions :pac: I'd love to see the look on his face reading that :pac:.

I got a birthday card off Joey for my 21st. My mam organised it. Apparently there was no problem getting it.

Sweet, that's a good response from Arsenal. I'd imagine Samir isn't in London at the moment and the club are looking after his fanmail, i like that response. So we now have our first name on out Wall of Legends!

    SAMIR NASRI (and/or Arsenal FC)

I was gonna be asked to be added, but maybe lack of response,,,says it all already about the modern day premier league guys!! They just don't give a sh!t.

Hit me with a championship or even SPL player...i reckon they will appreciate some fan mail!! Especially the SPL guys outside Celtic/Rangers.
If i send a mail to a Falkirk reserve with that letter...i bet i end up being best man at his wedding!!! :)

And people wonder why players don't bother reading fan mail...

I've been following this thread since the start. It will be interesting to see if any of the players reply. I doubt if most premier league players would be bothered. Players egos are too big these days.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,454 ✭✭✭mink_man

dont they not have peolple to look at theor mail and send postcards and autographs to fans!?

and on that site for the addresses of the players it said it will take up to 3 months for a reply!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,460 ✭✭✭Blisterman

Well, so far after nearly a month, I have yet to receive a single reply from any of the Rugby Players I sent letters to.

Just back from holidays today and have got two replies. I got a Liverpool FC Official magazine from 2008 when there was a feature done on Martin Skrtl, just a standard office reply to fanmail.

Then I was amazed with what I got from Steve Simonsen. He sent me a signed pair of old keepers gloves and a letter in response:D:D.Was pretty shocked to be honest. Some pics added.

No word yet from Robinho, Mullins or Petrucci.

fair play to him.that was a nice touch.
BTW i didnt get any reply yet

Was thinking after a while we should compile the pics and letters of who replies and send it off to The Metro or The Herald or something with the story of our experiment. Properly name and shame!

And i'd say he actually wrote the letter himself too. I don't mean it the wrong way, but if he got a secretary or someone to write out the letter for him to sign, there wouldn't be those little grammar mistakes. Can't say a bad word about him though for replying like that. Wish i'd been so lucky with chris eagles.

Wow, that is completely awesome!! This is what i was hoping for, not only little replies but memorable things like this. I love it. Steve is DEFINATELY going into the hall of legends!

I like that idea. It'd be cool to let people know who the legends are, like Steve Simonsen!!

I was too late for this, but I decided to email a few european clubs and a few random english clubs.

I just got the email addresses from that link to the Fanmail.biz site that someone left below. Wasn't bothered writing a letter, so just fired out the same email to each...

    Anyway,
after only 5 days I got a reply from Ajax. Got an signed pics from Dennis Bergkamp, Oleguer,Anita and Dario Cvitanich. All definately hand signed, and not printed.

Also got some from Schalke - from Farfan, Asamoah, Kuranyi and Neuer.

Best one though was a personalized signed pic by Rafa Nadal. :) Think I just left the msg on his website.

BY THE WAY, IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO GET IN ON THIS!

The season has just started, we're gonna keep going and maybe we can get letters sent out to everyone in the league. If anyone wants to send out a 2nd set of letters (maybe those who recieved replies will have another go) then let's get cracking :D:D

    Rather Nice Chappies:

    Samir Nasri
    Arsenal FC
    Liverpool FC
