Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all

I apologise if this has been asked already.
I am planning to buy a new laptop within the next month, and I was wondering does anyone know if Microsoft or the Manufactorers are planning to offer people who buy a laptop with Vista pre-installed the chance to Upgrade to Windows 7, similar to what they did when Vista was released?

Ok... actually firgured out myself. Most companies are offering upgrades to laptops/PC's bought recently and end of Jan 2010, but they need to have a minimum of Vista Home Premium, they aren't offering updates to anything with Vista Basic.

Just bought an Acer a few weeks ago and it qualifies for the upgrade to windows 7, below is from the Acer site.

"Customers who purchase a qualifying Windows Vista®-based PC from June 26 2009 to January 31, 20101 can get an upgrade to Windows® 7 when Windows® 7 becomes available".

And as you say vista basic does not qualify along with vista starter edition and xp ( all editions ) .
