Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Does Ireland have anyone or group set up to champion the cause of the beleaguered Irish motorist ?

I mean is there any way a group could lobby Brian Clown etc in government on motoring related issues ?

The first point in my book would be to have a body who ensures the roads are left in a reasonable condition after road works are carried out - I mean thats only looking after the countries assets is it not ?

I am blue in the face raising this same point, as motorists are a huge lobby group, with a huge voting potential, yet we just sit back and take all the cr*p, increases, taxes, levies, fees, registration costs etc etc and all for the privelege of avoiding potholes etc. Yesterday, some bright spark called Mc Carthy, published a report for the Government, recommending tolls to be placed on many existing (old) roads, both major and minor, as a means of raising extra revenue, while at the same time he recommended a huge cut in Govt. spending on roads maintenance. This same guy was against the Dart, on the basis of his expertise, which stated that hardly anyone would use it and it was unjustified. There are a multitude of activities and actions that motorists can engage in, for a better deal, but only if its done, en masse, collectively, like truckers, farmers, taxi drivers etc.
