Anyone been in this position before ?
Basically I'm looking at bringing a Lotus Europa S (new model not the classic) in from the UK and the VRT online calculator didn't have it in it's list so I rang the VRO in Santry and they said that it's not in their system and that they'd have to refer it to Rosslare but can't do this without the car documentation.

So basically the VRO can't tell me how much the VRT would be until the car is bought and brought into the country.

Anyone been in this situation before and found a solution (the guy on the phone had never heard of Lotus and kept asking did I mean Lexus but eventually found lotus after a few mins so I'm guessing he may not know everything).

    Cheers for any help !

All they need is the VIN, I believe.

ring the dealer selling it and explain the situation to him, and ask for a scan of the V5 or ask him to fax a copy of the V5 to you, then you can bring that to the VRO.
