    Morning all,

What is the dress code for these assessment centres? Also what is the format for the 3 hours?

    Thanks in advance,

    Big.

Does anyone have information on what the Assistant Manager position is like?

Big inner, for the assesment centre you need to be fully suited and booted. Make sure your shoes shine like a mirror. They are a bit anal like that.
Not sure what role you are going for but if you are going for a regional manager you will have a regional director and a sales operations manager carrying out the interview.
Just be strong and positive, thats what they look for

3 hours aint that bad. I recently had 4 phone interviews + one face-to-face interview for a job, each of which was 30-90 minutes long. For a seperate job I had 2 phone interviews c. 30-60 mins each and a trip to England for a 3.5 hour interview.

Just to chime in about the whole working 60+ hours thing, I honestly don't see what the problem is. If someone wants to work their ass off and get compensated well for it, good for them. It can be good to do that for 2/5/10 years or whatever, earn enough for a deposit on a house, and worry about family time later. There's no reason why you can't work hard and play hard too. As someone else pointed out, many of those who clock out after 39 hours just end up watching TV all evening anyway.

I think the whole working hours debate is relative; I worked 60+ hours on a job I had in Sydney (project for the 2000 Games) and I really enjoyed it, every minute was at 100 mph and the gang I was working with were fantastic. I also worked a 37.5 hr week in an office and it was hell on earth, the time dragged by and you couldn't pay me enough to work there again. So I guess it comes down to job satisfaction and appreciation of and from colleagues - unfortunately from what I can gather, Lidl ain't too hot on either of those things.

When you are busy and challenged work is great because it flies by, simple as that
