Powerdirector 7 NTSC/PAL

Hi, I got a video file from a friend. He recorded it on his HD camera that he bought in America (I'm in Ireland obviously). When I import it into Powerdirector the fotage is all jumpy and broken. I tried changing the TV format to NTSC in the settings but that made it worse. HELP!!!!:confused::confused:
