Sprouting beans

    Trying to sprout beans at the moment - using mung beans - it's taking quite a while & despite rinsing twice daily growth is slow and the sprouts appearing tend to be tinged purple & brownish which doesn't look as appetising as the supermarket variety ! Anyone got any advice ?

    are you doing it in the dark?
    You should be. And in a warmish place.
