    iPhone SMS security vulnerability – text message can be sent to any iPhone to switch on the camera and mike to snoop on you...

    Unpatched so far. Details to be provided at www.blackhat.com hackers convention at Caesar’s Palace this weekend.

    Apple is due to release security patch shortly, which iPhone users will have to download and apply to fix the problem, when it becomes available.

    Perhaps this forum should be called "Mobiles & PDSs - (as in minus ie no mention of) iPhone" for the sake of clarity?

    Anyway there might be one or two iPhone "haters" out there (who wouldn't dream of looking at apple media devices) interested in even more reasons why not to buy this product :-)

    Failing that one might think that there should be sub-topics within this group for Nokia, Sony Ericsson, iPhone, Google Android, etc for brand-specific postings in addition to a general non-brand specific forum for general stuff.

    If you wish to discuss the issue further, you could always pm one of the Mobiles & PDAs forum moderators. In short though, having a separate forum specifically for Apple media devices ensures that every other thread in the Mobiles & PDAs forum is not about the iPhone; as it was before the separation of the forums.
