Just looking at the prices of new MG TF's on Carzone and think they are somewhat excessive for a car that was launched in 1995 and is now built by the Chinese. I mean, who do they expect is going to pay thirty-three grand for one?

Almost exactly the same price as the current MX-5.
You'd have to be insane to pay that much for a car that wasn't all that great in the mid 90's.

If they had stuck to pricing it as a budget roadster, and not aiming it straight at the latest MX-5, then it probably would've sold quite well. I do also think that the Irish importer is making a healthy profit as well though.

I wasn't aware that there were any dealers in Ireland for the current MG line - must be a recent thing.

The car isn't even as good looking as the later MG-R built ones now... no idea who would buy one!
