    I am slowly getting addicted to this game.
    Very similar to Diable, but arguably, better.

    It's been around over 20 years, has basic graphics( I play ASCII)
    and has no sound.

    Your character is represented by an '@' symbol, your kitten/pet a 'd'
    and 'z' for a zombie, 'D' for a dragon ect.

    The situations and randomness of the dungeons keeps the
    game freash everytime.

    Crazy hard, and most importantly, fun.
    GIve it a bash, especially for diablo fans.

    Never tried it, must give it a bash, I hear it is longer and more
    combat intensive than Nethack.

    Never played nethack but i have ordered a game for DS which is a roguelike. Roguelikes are based on Rogue, the game that inspired Hack, that inspired Nethack.

    Don't think i could stomach ASCII games but more recent games based on roguelike genre are okay for me.
