Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Automatically reconnect PPPoE connection

I'm using Vista, and my internet connection is my laptop connected into a wall socket, and the PPPoE server is operated by the apartment ISP (ie there's no network device that I control that I plug into directly). The connection occasionally drops though which is a bit of a b*tch as downloads fail, so I'm looking at finding an application that will automatically redial if the connection drops (which might mean the download doesn't fail).

I found an application called Reconnect, that was produced by a crowd called Ntoolz, but their website seems to be down, and from downloads on other sites it seems to contain a trojan.

So, anyone got any other ideas?

would a download manager software be the way to go, then your downloads will pick up from where they stopped in the event of a disconnection?

Don't think so. Not all servers support the resume function AFAIK, and ones like rapidshare etc almost definetly wouldn't.

1000th post. In a shade shy of 6 years
