Righto. So in future the way to stop Lukaku scoring is to have me put a bet on him scoring.

And as if the season couldn't get worse...

    Interesting.....and Newcastle raided too.

Now, is there any link between West Ham and Newcastle? Let me think....

    Oh for a striker....

Looks like we are going to fall arse backwards over the line....

And it looks like it'll be Calleiri and Ayew up front tonight. Sigh.

Did we really pay ?20,000,000.00 for Ayew, refund please?

Sounds like a good atmosphere. Hope you are a good luck charm!!!

The game is very low on shots and is pretty turgid! I've heard facking 100 times and the old bill once!

    Fan fukin tastic....

    A) We are safe...
    B) We've stopped the Spuds
    C) Harry's face was a delight at the end - pays him back for recent cheating dives against us...

What a performance, that back 3 was monumental.

Love sticking it to them :D

Just back. The game picked up in the second half and the place erupted at the goal! It was very noisey in there. All in all, an entertaining night. I've now seen West Ham play at the Boleyn and the London stadium.

BBC will be all over how spuds lost versus how we won. Power shot Number 10

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Great performance. Calleri put in a great shift and deserved a goal out of it. Disappointing that we didn't win by more. While we were comfortable in the end, would have been nice to put another chance away.
Anyone know why Lanzini was booked after scoring? I don't think he took his shirt off and I didn't see him jump the advertising hoardings. He seemed to think it was because he made the crossed hammers sign which is bizarre if true.

Think Bilic should be given a new contract. With all that's gone on this season and it being West Ham and all, we were always going to have a bit of a comedown from last season. The fact that we're possibly/probably going to end the season mid table and be a bit disappointed with it shows that we're heading in the right direction.

You won your cup final last week!

Your team has been on holiday for the rest of the season and will be for the rest lol, enjoy relegation next year...

    Deliciously bitter :)
I find it hilarious how Spurs fans constantly talk about how it's 'our' cup final, yet go into meltdown when they lose to us :pac:
    This is comedy gold

So the season ended. We finish 11th and it's deemed to be a bad season. 10 years ago, that would have been a very decent season for us.
And Zabaleta is the first signing of the summer for us.

Happy enough with that to be honest. We badly needed a RB and I always liked him. Hopefully Byram can learn a thing or two also

Gonna be a long summer of being linked with every single striker on the planet though. Hope they just get it over with early on and get in Batshuayi but wont be holding my breath (getting an awful sense of deja vu already).

Look after our Zabba. The guy is a City legend.

Antonio will be delighted. No chance he'll be stuck in at right back now....
Word is that we've had a bid for Iheanacho accepted. That would be a fantastic signing.

I'm suddenly getting all optimistic, my 48th season in a row to do so! :D

So rumours abound that Arnautavic to WHU is on...
Then he hands in transfer request at Stoke...
Then Jinxed on KUMB confirms that it is basically done...bank on it...
Then in Switzerland in pre-season friendly for Stoke...

    19:45 Neuchatel 0 Stoke 0
Arnautovic is down and this time it looks pretty serious. It looks like he might need a stretcher. Stoke's medical team is looking pretty concerned and Bojan and Erik Pieters have gone over to check he's all right.

Sometimes I just despair being a WHU fan!!!.

I've a bad feeling this is going to be another summer of us going after good players, getting none of them and ending up signing what's left. If things don't pick up a bit in the transfer market we're gonna end up struggling for a top half finish again!!

A fit Arnoutovic (possibly with Snodgrass going the other way) and Hernandez would be solid addition. Still need some more beefing up around the team.

The West Ham injury curse has struck so early, it's happened before a player's even joined :pac: Rather this happen than he gets the same injury in his first game for us.

Happy with Hernandez for £17 mill

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

So how long before our new record signing gets a long term injury?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,404 ✭✭✭✭vicwatson

Ah **** it we are always whinging aren't we? Personally this is overshadowing the real signing for us which is Hernadez

Let's stay positive. We are IRONS.

Jazus if we nip in and steal Neymar from under PSG's noses it'll have been a hell of a transfer window for us! :D

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,449 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

    Ashley Fletcher sold to Boro????
That's an odd one. Thought he had great potential.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,015 ✭✭✭Ludo

Ah cant say no to 7 million in fairness. I would assume there will be a proven replacement now coming in rather than young potential. Good deal imho.

    1-0 tomorrow, Hernandez, COYI

Thought we were ok until they scored - thereafter MU took over - they look seriously good - wouldn't panic yet - think we are as well have that one out of the way... (ever the optimist - comes with c. 48 years of practice!!!)....

Well I see our newest record signing is doing as well as our previous record signings

    If you need to ask...........

Bilic really needs to be gone...now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,630 ✭✭✭me89

    How bad was it?

    Absolutely pathetic.

The players don't look like they are playing for the manager, it's time for him to go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

Who would you like to replace Bilic?

As I read somewhere earlier..."A good squad with a ****e manager beaten 3-0 by a ****e squad with a good manager".

So Benitez for one would do me. Tell him he has 35 mill to spend.(the Carvalho money).

Bilic makes so many strange decisions and is showing a complete lack of progress that at this stage there has to be someone better. Admittedly getting someone might be difficult, but not as difficult as it will be in three months when we are potentially rooted to the bottom with only half a season or less left.
