Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

1-1 at half-time, at Anfield. Who'da predicted that?
The Pool will turn the screw, and we could leak goals obviously, but the team is actually looking pretty good, defensively and in attack. Anderson on form, Ngakia promising.

Yep...we will still lose this obviously but play like this every week and we will be fine. Flash in the pan though.

Of all the players you would have suspected to be the one to fcuk things up, Fab is way down that list.

They're starting to throw themselves to the ground. They're bound to get one.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,441 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Haller loses the ball and just FCUKING STOPS!!
They've gotten so fcuking lucky today.

Much better display than recent. Definitely something to build on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,972 ✭✭✭cdgalwegian

Under par Liverpool, with what should be a normal Hammers display = fair scoreline.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 11,441 Mod ✭✭✭✭Hammer Archer

Why the fcuk do we wait until we play the runaway leaders to actually put a performance in? If we don't get three points against Southampton on Saturday, then what was the point?

Soucek and Snodgrass adding to our injury list.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,127 ✭✭✭The real mccoy 91

While it stings because the 2nd goal was a freak mistake snodgrass has to do better for the 1st goal and haller not near strong enough for a so called big man for the 3rd. Take the positives from that game realistically anything we got there was a bonus but it's much easier to take when we have a go and put in a performance like we did. Very impressed by ngakia he needs to keep that spot now soucek very good rice getting forward more slight negatives with haller and anderson just looking disinterested without the ball and lack of effort. But all in all I'm happy with that showing

Big game today. We simply MUST get 3 points. Anything less and it's game over.

    Haller and Bowen up top.

#WHUFC XI: McCarthy, Ward-Prowse, Stephens, Bednarek, Bertrand, Boufal, Smallbone, Hojbjerg, Armstrong, Long, Obafemi

#SaintsFC XI: Fabianski, Ngakia, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Rice, Noble, Bowen, Fornals, Haller, Antonio

    No Ings for Southampton.

Played my son at FIFA earlier. He is a Southampton fan
Southampton beat us 4-1. Hat trick for Obafemi. Hope that's not a reflection of what's to come.
On the other hand....I'm ****e at FIFA anfd he plays all the time :-)

Yes, Brighton losing means we can get them back to within 1 point with a win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,972 ✭✭✭cdgalwegian

Haller up with Antonio. Goal fest!
Bowen starting instead of Anderson. Interesting; might be contributing to the Goal fest.

    west ham 1-0 up.

part of me hates west ham leading to early as it means when they blow it later, it hurts more

I know it benefits us if Chelsea beat Bournemouth but I can't help but take pleasure in seeing it gradually turn to sh!t for Lampard at Chelsea.

As the commentator said...not something that has happened too often this season.

Also, that Haller is playing really well- with a second striker up with him to play off him. Something Pelligrini refused to do, despite that being Haller's mode at Eintracht.

Hammers 34% possession at home, yet win 3-1; grit, determination and cohesiveness finally on display.

was not a great performance, but at this stage points more important than performances

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,438 ✭✭✭Shedite27

Didn't see the game, was Antonio up top or playing from the wing.

Great win, important with the run we've got coming up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Antonio was up front. I saw one chance he ran onto and probably should have scored but it was saved and went for a corner.

It is a vital 3 points. Today was all about the result.

Just like now I want Watford to lose to Liverpool and I can't stand Liverpool!

    indeed.

still, glad we wont have to listen to their irratating fans go on about "invincinbes"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,070 ✭✭✭pjmn

Watched our game today - could never say we were comfortable, but they played like a team and worked for each other - playing two up front is crucial... given the other results was important we got the three points...
