Hey, I'm thinking about getting a swallow tattoo. It'll be my first tat, just the one swallow, fairly smallish and I'm not exactly sure where on my body I should get it done, any suggestions? Also I've looked up alot of tattoo places but I'm based in the midlands and was thinkin of Waterford or somewhere in Dublin. Any recommendations?

I think you should get it on your neck my friend has it there and it looks decent.

If its your 1st tattoo then the artist most likely won't tattoo you on your neck. Besides which, quite visible tattoos on the neck/face/hands area can heavily affect your future job prospects (might not be fair but its the world we live in) so unless you're planning on freelancing, being an artist or an entreprenuer, I'd avoid visible areas (until you become addicted to tattooing and run out of space or whatever) until then, why not go for the calf or chest area. Do you know if you're going for a new school or old school style swallow?
JMDs in Waterford is good, Jani in Prime tattoo Dublin is good, Justin Russell is good. Snakebite in Dublin are good.

Thanks, I should probably clarify that I'm female. I've been also thinking of my lower leg/ankle/foot. I'm not 100% decided on the swallow tat it's just the only one that appeals to me, I want something that will represent a few different things in my life and it seems to be appropriate but I'm still open to suggestions. I'm involved in the area of drama and hope to eventually specialise in drama therapy so I'm not too fussed with it being visible as I don't want it to be big anyway. Haven't decided on old school or new school yet!

Whatever you do don't get a tramp stamp,I'm totally sick of seeing them.A lot of people seem to be getting them on the lower abdoman and inner wrists.
