The wind blows wildly from the north,
ice building on each leafless limb.

And angry skies reach down to sieze
The sorry blackened bones of trees,

The assault continues on in force
turns night both dangerous and grim

In the dead of winter
When the silent snow birds come,

Where none care enter
into a land without sun.

Even though it's kinda funny,
Got to get me some.

When dreary Christmas decorations
Line the streets and filling stations,

and the radio blares
of partridges and pears.

Dime store Santas can't disguise
Their empty hands and empty eyes,

Children hide behind mother's legs
as Santa with his kettle begs.

In the dead of winter
When the tinsel angels come,

Silently ghosts then enter
and to sadness I succumb.

Give it away it's only money
beats the tatoo of the drum.

Bring cold comfort to the heart

Songs of love are left unsung,

Scenes from yester year let go,
