Good friends of mine just had their first child, a baby girl & I would like to buy something nice for her now as I wont be living in Ireland when she is Christened.

Good suggestions would be appreciated as I'm a fella & aint got a clue what to get!

    Whats your budget like?

I recently had a baby girl - we got so many lovely gifts, alot of clothes and cuddly toys! I think my favourite presents were

A silver memory box from Past Times on wicklow Street. They have lovely toys like Russian nesting doll, paddington bear, etc too.
A silver Tiffany's charm bracelet with her name and dob engraved - it will be kept up until she is big enough to wear it as its an adult size!
A picture of a giraffe and a baby giraffe, as well as a giraffe teddy bear from the same person.

some other ideas would be prize bonds, membership of the zoo for a yr if they live around Dublin

I always use this crowd for my baby gifts:

You can get loads of really cute stuff embroidered with the baby's name/DOB. Always goes down really well.

Plus they are Irish and delivery is prompt.

I personally think this is a great little gift, well depending on the age of the child that is.

I have this earmarked for when any of my friends are good enough to provide me with a little baby to goo over

It's a poem written by Neil Gaiman, made up of wishes for the life of a little girl. It's beautiful

Thanks for the great suggestions guys it's very much appreciated!

I think I'll go with the Soft Teddy Quilt shown below as it's a nice personnel touch with the embroidered name etc.

That's a lovely present, my friend's mam had a baby girl, but I was thinking of getting something for the mother also, I'd spend around 20 euro, any suggestions?
