Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I would like to build a cheap raid1 solution that will allow me to encrypt using Truecrypt or similar.
Does anyone know of a cheap all-in-one box that will allow this or could I build one myself using an enclosure and two disks ?

    Any advice ?
    Many thanks

Try looking into the buffalo terastations. They're meant to be quite good. I've not tried them myself though.

RAID is an abstraction for disk sectors that falls way below any encryption. There's no good reason that you couldn't use encryption on top of any RAID volume (unless it was hardware encryption).

    Thanks snappie,
The reason I asked about encryption, is that a lot of these new hom NAS boxes provide raid but have a software http interface and canimplement their own encryption). I just wanna make sure I can encrypt using my own preferred system.
