Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

all slides scanned on a cheapo canon 4400f
I had the kiron 28mm f2 on sale here but nobody wanted it.
I also had my ef 20-35mm f2.8L on sale, and the same. almost had it sold on ebay at my asking price but took it down when I got some of these photos back, I want to keep it for wide angle, not sure how I'd replace it for cheap because I need to have autofocus for gig photography.

Great pics man, DSLR right ? u still selling lens? how come they look so 'film' ? is there much post processing work?

just my opinion but they would look better if you had a little noise in the black, or bring the black levels down a little.
thats why I got rid of my olympus, only way I could save high iso images was to bring up the black to get rid of the terible banding and noise, not sure what dslr u are using
I use flash 99% of the! time at gigs, I hate non flash shots, it doesn't suit my music, in BW I'm just a fan of very high blacks.
I use a 5D mk II, if you go to properties in pixie you will see the stats. ;)

I even used a flash with all this lighting!

Nce results from the 4400f. I bought one and found the results to be terrible. That and it has a line that runs through every scan I make, which I guess is a one off fault with the scanner.

Hi all... I took this photo a couple of days ago with a lens that pcphoto lent me and his eos 3 too.... very kind of him indeed. It is a MP65mm canon macro, shot with the free 200 iso film that unicare are handing out :)

Hi AnCat Dubh.... Thanks for the edit. How do I post images properly so you can see them rather than as an attachment to be clicked on?

Hey Katie,

Just embed the url with image url or hit the insertimage.gif button.

Check the FAQ - there's a tutorial in there for pix.ie or flickr

Cheers.

ye I read some bad reports on it after I had payed for it but I really like the scans, tho Im comparing them to neopan 400 and superia 200&400 scans Ived had in the past from photo shops/chemists, perhaps provia 100f looks great even with an ordinary consumer scanner

I know some scanners are supposed to be ok with slides but bad with negative film.

I got my slides back yesterday and waited till I got home to check them so to not get dust on them and I barely had them out before putting them into the scanner, I checked them under a light for dust and used a big blower, but still I had dust and little hairs appear on the scans. time consuming to fix If you have alot to scan, 8800f does an infra red scan and subtracts that from the normal scan to remove dust.

I also cleaned the scanner glass with alcohol, cotton buds and a lens cloth, then I blow it with clean air before each scan. It seems impossible to get dust/dirt free scans
