So it looks like the government will try and tax us out of our homes and jobs in the next Budget, so has anyone got any ideas on legal ways that ordinary people can try and sabotage and de-rail their plans ?

Some things that we can do as workers, families and individuals to make the country un-governable, so they have no option but to call an election. Like a mass civil resistance campaign but fully within the law.

My own thoughts are some way to swamp the government and its agencies with so many letters and e-mails so the whole system slows down and can't function.

Where do you plan on raising the money needed by the country?

    Here's the plan.

Stop using all state services. Don't claim any benefits. Don't use the hospitals, schools or collages. Don't apply for any grants. Don't use any of the PRSI funded services. Stay off subsidied public transport. Don't use the roads.

Soon enough public expenditure will be down to an affordable level and the evil government's tax raising plans will be abandoned.

Who says that's what the government are trying to do(get us out of this recession)? Given the Track Record of FF Id say they are uping taxes to get a bigger cut so they can look after themselves as much as possible while they still can because its blatantly obvious they have slim chance of getting back into power.

sorry mate but dont be an ass , At "worst" the above posters are implying that the gov should aim to manage the state budgets in line with the size of the economy.

Aaah, basicaly you have to weed out the wasters, the liggers, the non performers who use the state to support a lifestyle which consists of producing nothing, contributing nothing, costing a fortune to sustain, and basically leeching on others diligence and hard work to sit in boozers all day drinking themselves into hospital.

Sort that out and it's hup hup everything's cool:D

Make money from online poker/professional gambling

About as close to a legal 'tax-free' lifestyle as it gets, if you know how of course

Really? How do you figure that?
The OP wants to "sabotage" the government and "make the country un-governable". Are you reading a different thread?

you would need to setup offshore bank account for that, otherwise revenue would come knocking asking for a slice of the cake

I can't see how they can extract anymore money from non income taxable public, while I don't mind the theory of water rates , carbon tax and property tax but these on top of living in the most expensive county in Europe, high stealth tax low income tax is madness, something is going to buckle in this country soon , how is your average person to continue on working when its getting close to pointless.
I personally know of two instances where marriages are broken up for the benefit of the social welfare just in order to keep their families in a house, can anyone blame someone for this fraud.
How much more can we afford to pay before the train leaves the track

there's your answer, bring the people(we all know them) who spend the day in the pub and who haven't worked for years to heel and then there is a bigger share to give to those who really need it.

Needs a bit of balls though, sadly lacking in our present Govt.

    Nah, gambling profits aren't taxable.

You can even claim dole while making hundreds of grand a year.

Only if you're genuinely seeking employment... how likely is that?
