Fedor is M1 and not just as a commodity, he is a major stake holder in it from what i'm aware of.

How much is M-1 worth? How much can Fedor earn without M-1? It's not a financial decision

For those who didn't listen to the conference call, Dana was very passionate about the work that himself and the Fertittas have put into turning the UFC from a heavily in debt company into what it is today, and he said how crazy it would be for them to let M-1 come in and share their profits

He asked how M-1 are going to help them copromote, especially with how their own promotion went

He said that even if they did agree to it, because of the Fertittas' gaming licence they'd have to do huge background checks on everyone

I'm still confident that they'll get Fedor. There's not huge money to be made in Japan because DREAM isn't doing that great and Fedor's never been a huge draw there. Strikeforce is the only other option, unless yet another money mark comes along with a new promotion and grand ideas that ends up going the same way as Bodog, EXC, WFA, Affliction, IFL, etc. Sooner or later they're going to realise that the UFC is their only option
