Granite Window Sill - Paint strip

    Hi,
I have some granite window sills that have been painted with white paint which is now flaking off revealing some of the stone in some areas and with paint still in other places.

I would like to remove the paint to bring back the stone itself.

Can anyone recommend the best approach for this, nitromors, torch, power clean(pressure may break glass though?)

If I was to get it professionally done does anyone know of an indicative cost (it is only one layer of paint)?

    Thanks in advance,

    JA1

Best paint stripper I've ever used is called "Klingstrip"; it's used by conservationists and specialists who work with old buildings etc. Washes off with water. You may find it hard to get, try MCB paints in Dublin 8.

    Hi,

I have some bush hammered white granite sills that have some rust stains (builder left key) and also some excess mortar in and around the joints. I tried a wire brush, however, it leaves a black type mark, anybody any ideas how to remove,
    Thanks
