I have an opel astra. the back right door is permanently locked from the inside and outside. the only possible way of unlocking it is by manually pulling up the pin on the inside and turn the key in the drivers door at the same time. what is wrong and how do i fix it???????????? i would be very grateful if you could help me with this!!!!!!

sounds like your central locking motor is playing up. you may be able to substitute it with a universal central locking motor like this

Alternatively, there may be a problem with your interior door handle, something may need oiling, or there may be an electrical fault.

What sort of car is it?

thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Its a 4 door saloon 2003 opel astra(the older model). Ill have a go at what you said. Its just I was told from a car dealership that I would have to pay €150 for the parts and 2.5hours labour @ €85 per hour. Its alot for something i might be fit to do myself. Thanks

you'd probably get the parts handy enough from a breaker.
