Hi. We are thinking about getting one of these pups as they are such a gorgeous dog. We've been doing our own research but would like to hear from real live people who own them. What do you think of them as a pet? :D

We had one for years and years. They are beautiful dogs and very friendly. He was a great dog but very stubborn. If he didn't want to do something then forget it. They tend to be quite stubborn. They also shed a huge amount of hair btw so have a good hoover ready. We called our Loki after the Norweigan god. He lived for about 11 years. Developed a lot of problems when he was old - prostate issues, legs problems, weight issues. He passed away about 9 years ago and we still miss him even though we've had two dogs since.

Amazing dogs. Beautiful. We've had two of them and they had such lovely characters.

They can get small lumps that might cause problems, and they shed alot, but its great watchin the birds take the fur for nesting.

That might not suit.If we were out for a long walk and he didn't want to go home, then what?! Plus we live in the country so if we didnt get a lead on him in time and he decided he was off to explore, that might be dangerous.

Certain breeds are stubborn and arent great when you call them. If its somethin thats goin to cause you trouble you might need to put a good bit of training into the dog to be good at coming when you call no matter what .
Every dog is different though .
