Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone reckon these rumours are true?

Now I know his goalscoring record looks very good in perspective but here is record between '03 and '07.

    2003/2004 19 goals in 51 games
    2004/2005 13 games in 43 games
    2005/2006 7 goals in 33 games
    2006/2007 12 goals in 43 games

    Thoughts?

What an odd snap shot of his career.

Why leave out the last 2 years?

Do you not see posting that threads are pointless... pretty pointless.

    Waste of a post.

Ive heard the same too i believe raul does have some influence, the madrid fans worship him and the board seem to be under his spell too.

Doesn't surprise me tbh he is like a God to most of the supporters over there.

Could actually be a possibility, we know the fans love him, does he love the club enough to reinvest his wages in it though

Ahh don't be jumping to conclusions Boggles, it's not as if he scored 23 in 46 and then 24 in 45 or anything!

    Oh......wait!

Just listened to a Radio 5 live soccer podcast where Calderon pretty much confirmed he had some influence and he did not get along with him.

Those fans that adore him turn on him pretty sharpish when the goals arent going in!

He's the club's all-time top goalscorer... of course the fans love him. That gives him a lot of muscle.

Ever since he got Anelka sold over 10 years ago, it's obvious and as soon as he stops backing managers, they get sacked. If he gets dropped, he gets sacked quicker than Gullit dropping Shearer, he played on the left wing for a couple of seasons to fit him in..

The likes of Valdano, Butragueno and Zidane are the ones that can compete with him for influence.

Absolute rubbish. One example of a coach that was sacked because of Raúl?

Only Capello ever really dropped him, and they're still friends.

His best buddies, Morientes and Hierro, along with coach Vicente del Bosque, were all shown the door at the same time, very much against the wishes of Raúl.

Seems to me that his influence only goes so far when Pérez is in charge.

What has Raul got to do with?

Not actually possible as the cljub isn;t a PLC it's a social club.

Nobody owns more than one share in the club.
