    Hey everyone

I need some help regarding a new desktop PC. I will probably buy from hardwareversand.de . I did post a thread in the past but some of the reply links from hardwareversand.de are now dead.

I will probably need the following spec.

    1. Bigger than 22" screen

    2. More than 3GB RAM

3 Large hard drive over 300GB.

    4. I also hope to add second monitor to it in the future so I would need a graphics card that could handle that.

    It will be used for

    1. Online poker with large screen maybe 24" (1920 x 1080) to multi table

    2. Working with Photoshop (Hobby)

    3. Microsoft Office

    4. Also some work on Sound Forge audio editing

If any one could post what i need and include the links it would be much appreciated.

    Thats a bit vague mate

What kind of money are you thinking of spending? are you building it form parts or are you buying a complete PC?

If its a Complete PC, I'd hold on for Windows 7

    also try www.dabs.ie and www.komplett.ie

Yeah as I said in the OP, it's gonna be a self build. Probably gonna spend around €800.

if you had a list for what you where going to buy and asked what people think before you buy, you would get better feedback...but your coming across looking like you want to be hand fed

depending on what kind of audio editing you want...

    soundpcbuild.JPG

If not, you can chop off the sound card. The power supply is a tad high. That gfx card can easily handle 2 monitors if you want a 2nd monitor.

    Thanks for that guys.
Stevo105 sorry if it seems that I was looking for someone to do all the work for me.
Cherryghost it will be some basic audio editing just once in a while,
I have never ordered a self build before and therefore I'm not sure what parts I need. Also if I order and ask them to self build if I miss some parts will they tell me or will they just build it as per the spec I ordered.

dont forget "Terminal paste" for your processor..i'd recommend "Arctic Silver 5"

you can get it on ebay for about 5 euro a tube

theres thermal paste already on the stock cooler when you buy it. theres no need for different paste unless you're a serious overclocker and then you'd be needing a custom cooler too

stick another 80 - 100 euro on that if you're looking to get an os. vista premium goes for about 80 while xp goes for about 70. then again you could download yourself a copy fo windows 7 release candidate. :)

Sounds Good thanks. Would you recommend the Vista 32bit plus windows upgrade pack or just use the windows 7 RC from microsoft and buy Windows 7 when it is released ?

RC then buy the retail when it arrives. IMHO the Win7 RC is better than Vista ever was :P
