That it is.. I didn't like it at the time despite wanting him to stay. I think the same thing happened with Agger and one or two others as well..

One thing though, he lost the dressing room is record time.

    after about 4 years???

Can I ask a very simple question.
Liverpool finished 7th this year, with 63 points, 7 points off 4th place, and 23 points off 1st.
Do people expect Liverpool to finish higher next season with Hodgson in charge?

    I don't.

Meh, if true then it isn't the type of thing we should dismiss just because the media made a baseless assertion.

When Rameez Mahomed entered the McDonald's player escort programme, he didn't realise it would lead to his meeting his soccer hero, Fernando Torres.

The little boy from Johannesburg was one of 23 children who escorted the Spanish and Honduras players on to Ellis Park on Monday.

Cameras trained on Torres captured the Spanish talisman as he struck up a conversation with Rameez, 10. The two were pictured conversing animatedly from inside the tunnel.

Rameez said holding Torres's hand was something he had been hoping for ever since he was told he would be an escort, but he never dreamt it would happen.

"The players came out and they were all mixed up. I was standing third in the line and I was supposed to be holding Sergio Ramos's hand. Then I felt someone grab my hand and I looked up and it was Torres....."

    :(
This story has been reproduced from today's media. It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club or Fernando Torres.

What!? are you questioning the veracity of a 10 year old South African kids account of meeting his idol? You sir are obviously deluded. South African 10 year olds are renowned for meticulous recounting of facts to worldwide media outlets. Renowned!!

So Rafa want Masch so and that he is willing to offer Cambiaso. That would make it a lot easier to digest

Also wants Agger, Johnson and Lucus too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,373 ✭✭✭Dr Galen

Well Agger has already come out twice and said he is going nowhere. Obviously in the world of football that only means so much, but he is one of very few who has said it specifically in fairness.

As for Cambi + cash for Masch, I'd take it. Not that I want him to go, but this is 2 years in a row that there have been rumours of an exit, and he has done nothing to quash that, in fact with his quip about learning Italian, he's been adding fuel to the fire. If a player wants to go, then better off without.

There's no way Inter could afford Lucas.

    He's staying.

    Give him Lucas! :pac:

I believe nothing about this, Rafa to raid Liverpool is just a good story right now. Sure Kuyt and Masch could go there but nothing is fixed.

there'd want to be a fair bit of cash with Cambiasso though. The man's getting on a bit, he's got to be the best part of 30 right?

    A. 100%
    B. 110%
    C. 1000000%

No, I was making a joke that the website would attach a disclaimer to a perfectly innocent and heartwarming story as they are making the point that the kid could have made it up!

Add all those three together and multiply them by infinity. Then multiply that by two.

All stories in the media section have to carry the disclaimer for the obvious reasons. At least you're not as mad as I thought you were a moment ago.

Now I know you are making it up, as there is absolutely no need to multiply infinity by two, as you can't have more than infinity!!!!!!!!!!!

Old news.:p I said a week or so ago that the rumour was that the new manager was to be announced within 14 days, and that the world cup plays a big part in it.

Did you by any chance check up further on the two businesses that I replied to your pm about?

Agger has always been very clear in that the future of Rafa at Liverpool had no bearing on his own future at Liverpool, and as you rightly say, he has come out and restated that again since Rafa left.

The fact that Agger gets directly involved in the running of his restaurants in Liverpool seems to be a big factor in him wanting to stay in Liverpool.

Some players get their flash cars and the women, Agger seems to be a smart cookie that spends a lot of his time off developing his restaurants.

Two really nice restaurants that do good business says the gossips are wrong with regards to him not being a smart chap. Looks like he will be opening a bar in Liverpool later in the year too, to go with the pub he has his uncle looking after for him back in Denmark.

Anybody who goes to a game next season should give one of them a try. I prefer Tirano as the atmosphere is very laid back and the food is yummy.

I think too many people judge the players from mainland Europe by the same standards of that of the British players in terms of intelligence.

Where many of the British players are as thick as planks and only have football to get by on, a large amount of the players from mainland Europe have to finish their education before getting involved on a professional basis, and also go on to get a third level qualification whilst in the youth set ups.

I wasn't talking about him not being a smart chap as he obviously has his head screwed on. I was more talking of the ridiculous rumours surrounding his injuries. Almost as believable as the Gerrard rumours doing the rounds for the past few years.

I would put more stock in the Gerrard rumour being true than the one about Agger's non footballing activities.

One reason why I would do so is because Gerrard's legal team are alleged to have taken out an injunction to prevent a story going to press, similar to what Terry did or rather what Terry tried to do with regards to the story about Bridge's other half.

As for Agger, if he was doing only half of what was rumoured, then I doubt he would have been in any state to develop his business and spend so much of his time on the premises. By all accounts the lad is no big fan of the British footballer lifestyle, and as a result is rarely seen in the fancier bars or clubs larging it up.

Capello was actually taking the piss, if you look closely you'll see his assistant giggling to himself when he tells Pearce to get up again.

well we'll have to pay a few million to get Roy out of contract-surely that'd be better used paying more for a far far far superior manager.
