Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

According to them, we're not getting any players ;) But lets hope they are wrong and Arsene is holding some dealings close to his chest, still a while left in the transfer window yet.

As for the Everton game I'd say 2-1 to us, but it'll definatly be a tight game.

Everton game will dictate how our season goes, Everton have a good team and moyes is a good manager.

There is a good article and chat with Almunia here, he seems like a genuinely nice bloke

Viera. Not too happy about this think he would have been a good signing especially for his experience, looks like another disappointing summer.
    Squad hint.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,128 ✭✭✭thorbarry

i hope it inst the case that we don't sign anyone else... judging from Wengers comments before, I wouldn't be surprised to see him buy someone very last minute, to get a bargain

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a last few days like we had in Jan 06 when Ade, Diaby and Walcott all signed within a couple of days to each other toward the end of the window iirc.

    Matuidi
    Chamakh
    AN. Other (CB)

    S'il vous plait.

I'm thinking 2-1 to Arsenal on Saturday with Everton scoring first. Should be a very tight game.
Wonder has Senderos been banned from the tactics room?

If this happened it would be immense, but tbh I'd settle for one of Matuidi or Hangeland at this stage.

Agreed, Chamakh's goalscoring record doesnt look too impressive, maybe I'm missing something? I can't see us bidding 15m for Hangeland but I can see us challenging with Hange and Matuidi, right now I'm looking at our opening 4 games and very worried about our defensive capabilities

I think Chamakh is a bit of a Drogba, i.e. a late developer.
Blanc rates him highly if that counts for anything.

sounds fair as everyone should be signed up by then anyhow :)

Yeah Im hoping he's just waiting on last minute signings but all the rumours going round really do seem to suggest otherwise :(

Just browsing Arsenal.com and came across this. Open an account with Paddypower.com and place 4 x £10 bets at evens or over and receive the new Arsenal away jersey. New customers only so the missus is getting a new PP account :D

I'm very unhappy with myself for not including any Arsenal players.

RVP and Arshavin going in after gameweek 2!!

From SSN, read into that what you will:

According to reports in Spanish daily Sport, Barcelona have been told to make an opening bid of 45million euros (£38.7million) for Cesc Fabregas. The European champions had been planning to make an initial offer of 30million euros (£25.8million) for the Arsenal captain.

Probably not true but if so, why is this happening?!

The latest antics from young Nicklas...

    http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/bendtner-explains-switch-of-squad-number/
Arsenal centre forward Nicklas Bendtner has changed his squad number for the new season.

The Dane caught up with Arsenal.com to explain why he decided on the switch and give a personal offer to fans who had bought his shirt through Club outlets this summer.

“The new season’s almost here, and along with the rest of the players I’m really excited and believe it can be a really special one for everyone associated with the Club." said Bendtner.

"Before it starts I wanted to change my squad number from 26 which I’ve obviously had for a number of seasons now. I chose to move to 52 because it’s a special number to me personally, and I hope that it brings me good luck for the new season.

"I appreciate that a good number of fans have bought their kits for 2009/10 already with names and numbers printed up so I’d like to personally cover the cost of replacing anyone’s shirt that has my previous number. It means a lot to see supporters wearing your name and number, and I want to ensure people aren’t inconvenienced by the change."

    * The offer is valid for supporters that purchased the Arsenal home, away or third shirt from a Club shop or online via Arsenal Home Shopping since June 2009. Any supporter wanting to upgrade their shirt that features Nicklas’ previous squad number must show proof of purchase in store.

I'd estimate the refund total to be about £42.30 so hopefully he'll have enough to purchase some more pastel coloured boots.

    What's a Neven Subotic?

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=666901&sec=england&cc=5739

    No Gunners move for Subotic

Neven Subotic's agent has dismissed reports linking Arsenal with a move for the Borussia Dortmund defender.

The Serbian is staying in Germany.

Reports on Wednesday suggested Arsenal were lining up a move for the towering central defender as they look to fill the void left by Kolo Toure's departure to Manchester City.

Subotic is highly regarded and Everton were also credited with an interest in the 20-year-old earlier this summer.

The Serbian international's agent, Stephen Kelly, insists he has not heard from Arsenal and that Dortmund have informed him that they have received no enquiry from the Gunners for Subotic.

"There is nothing in the reports linking Neven with Arsenal," Kelly told Sky Sports.

"I don't know where this has all come from.

"He only recently signed a new five-year deal at Dortmund and it would take big money for any move to happen.

"I have had no contact with Arsenal and I have spoken to Dortmund and they have told me that they have had no contact with Arsenal whatsoever."

Anyone any idea why the number 52 is special to Bendyboots?? Is it the no. of absolute stonewall sitters he has missed in the last two seasons? Or maybe its the number of injuries Rosicky has had in the last year :D

I'd say a fair few were stung with the Toure jerseys for the away and 3rd strip.

Suppose it's better then the headers with there own personalised ones like
