Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He means to rip out the cat and let all the diesel goodness flow into the air.

your cat is one of the most restrictive parts of the exhaust system, so by replacing it with a decat pipe you get the gases flowing much quicker and hence more power.

not, neccessarily, they can be got in either a straight cyclinder pipe with flanges to join onto your existing exhaust and you can also get legal, NCT passable high flow cat pipes.

they work on performance NA cars and on petrol turbo cars, so theres no reason they shouldnt work on a diesel, but ive never tried it myself.

oh right.... another question... when did they start putting cats in diesels??? have a bit of diesel experience but only with one car type and ders none in it.

iirc they only emmision test diesels after 2001/2. before that is only a smoke test.

a decat can benefit some diesels, what car/engine is it?

    thought so some how.

get one on there, youll see a bit of an improvent, had one on my old dt, frees up the revs.

you can get them for around £20 too, just order a downpipe from a early ph1 dt, they didnt come with particulate filters.

little awkward and fiddly to fit though, ramp isnt completely necessary but will make life alot easier. best to get a new gasket/fitting kit too.

    jobs a good un!

Legend. thanks for that. I've already turned the pump a small bit, nct is in 2 months, when it's done i'm going turning the boost up.

you should see a small increase in boost with the fuel up alone have you got a boost gauge? if not defintley get one if youll be playin around with the boost.
