Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This year we've got Eduardo and Rosicky back, Arshavin for a whole year and Wilshere making a much bigger impact, along with Bendtner I reckon. Our attacking options really are looking good.

just need that DM and maybe a CB

    then ill be worried

    Agreed.
If we were to bring in a big attacker/striker we might not see these players we have in attack like Eduardo Wilshere Ramsey, who TBH look far better all round this year.
I'm not worried if AW doesn't spend anything either.

He wasn't good enough last year, I'd be surprised if he makes the step up in quality to be good enough this year!

He's definately improved a lot in the last 2 seasons.
    ;)
He doesn't have the skill and flair of our other players and i think is the reason he gets overlooked, he definately is versatile and now looks a lot more confident.

cute play by Silvestre, playing the ball of the Rangers man's arm....earning the free out.

Bendner on for Arshavin. He'll get two.

If Celtic have anything about them then Mowbray will have them win that league, even if they go out of the Champs Lge on Wed. I think Celtic will win it.

    Super Jack again. :D:D

Looks like it's getting a bit hostile in the stands.
Lot's of booing and Rangers fans dancing.
Few Arsenal fans getting out while the going is good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,097 ✭✭✭DenMan

God I wish Almunia would cheer up. He's making me feel depressed. :(

Why didn't Eboue put on a training kit shirt. It didn't look good him wearing a Rangers shirt.

Well done lads. Let's hope for more silverware this season.

Yeah, i mean wearing the top youve just swapped with your opposite number after a friendly match...terrible so it is...

Two excellent attempts at posts there. You'll soon be able to multiquote.

    A+ for effort.

back on topic now. Great to see Wilkshire stepping it up on a slightly bigger stage. If he keeps preogressing at the rate is he is currently the second half of this season might be a major one for him, especially with England in a Major Championships at the end of the season. Today's performance can't be judged too much as its a friendly against lower class opposition, but the two games in the tournament have done well to show the options we have in our squad. Good pre-season overall. Lets hope we can get off to a flying start in the league.

    I know...its only taken me 3,500 posts! :D

Anyway, football...thats what most of us are here for..

i didnt see the game today, but in all honesty i wasnt really expecting anything different considering the gulf between englands top 4 and us.

From what ive read though this young Wilshere (sp?) sounds a hell of a player, will we be seeing him much this season or is he one for the future?

I think he will be used more this season than last, but depending on fitness issues with others, I can't see him playing any regular football till the later part of the season. A decent run in the LC might give him another showing that will see him break through to the first team proper. This is just the way I predict it happening. A couple of injuries to key players might see this change with him being dragged up the pecking order under such circumstances, but ideally he will be one for the near future rather than now or far future.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,828 ✭✭✭gosplan

You'll see him in the Carling cup and if Walcott get's injured.

I imagine that Eboue will be on the bench instead of Wilshire due to his versatility.

Cool, definetly one to keep an eye on from what ive heard. Wenger is always willing to give the youngsters a fair crack of the whip too. I doubt he could be in a better place at the minute.

Apologies for bringing this up again but i just wanted to get some context on it......
