    Hi guys,
I am interested in becoming a dog groomer and am currently looking at options for courses. I have seen a lot of courses that last a few weeks and then you get a cert but does anyone know if dog grooming can be learned on the job? I think I would probably get a pretty good education from starting as the "shampoo girl" and working my way up. In the human world, that's what a lot of hairdressers do, as far as I know.

Oh and has anyone got any other advice about going into this business? Is it easy to find work, or set up yourself if you want? Will the salary allow meto live fairly comfortably? Will I stink of wet dogs 24/7? :)

AFAIK you can learn there perhaps yes.
But to be official / learn proper techiniques you need to get certs etc. My groomers got their wall covered in certs for different breeds for grooming/ nutrition /etc. He explained them to me before. Himself and his partner specialised in different areas I think.
