was talking to a mate about the upgrade meteor are currently undertaking...

he thinks its very likely that they will introduce a system whereby you will only be able to use webtexts via your laptop/pc, and not from your phone with programs like cabbage/jellysms/eirtext etc..

this would be very simple for them to do, just show a box with some letters which you have to verify by typing same into a security box..basically just prevents auto log ins....

    any1 else think its likely?

I'm sure it would annoy people having to enter a tedious captcha code on every login.. So its possible, but not sure that likely, you never know though

Don't know about the likeliness of it but apps would be able to download and display the captcha image so it wouldn't necessarily stop that side of things - It would make automated texting significantly more difficult though.

From a user-experience point of view, I think it would be a very negative more.

Don't think that would go down too well with customers if implemented! But if they do, I will be straight into a Vodafone store Tuesday morning to request a port.

ah yea but these companies will never get it that implementing unpopular stuff == bad idea

maybe they will all gang together (like they did when they brought in rip-off international text charges) and all decided to block cabbage. this **** doesn't go down well with competition regulators, comreg and the likes but thanks to FF those guys have no power anyway
