Trying to connect to eircom....

The key is correct and i try and connect but it won't even give me an acquiring network address it was stuck at detecting network type. It was working one minute and then not the next. Any ideas?

Quite a lot more detail would be very helpful. In general we discourage the Raymond Carver school of writing in this forum.
