Awesome cruiser, one of the few cruisers I've seen that I wouldn't mind a spin on :D

    Here's mine, someone buy her!

Finished at last, got out for a short spin this morn.. Need to get tax and a plate done up before I take her out for a propper spin.. Time to enjoy the summer before I strip it down over the winter for a damn good clean and finish all the bits I didn't get a chance to do this time..

have you any pics of before you started restoring it?

    looks great btw
Should have but didn't take enough. Here's what I did to it though:
Resprayed tank and side panels with new decals from David Silver
Sourced new 'preserve nature' decal for fuel tank cover.
Replacement rear wheel, new brake linings and inner tube.
New ( second hand ) front forks from eBay polished and resprayed by me. Did the seals with the originals but was a waste of time.
New jets and float valves to carbs, retuned and balanced - still leaking petrol though - parts from David Silver.
    New front brake pads.
New ignition coils plus plug caps.
Replacement centre stand - secondhand from eBay
Original Honda exhaust downpipes from USA which cost a fortune but can't be got anywhere.
Tailpipe from eBay for £8 on a gamble. Gentle application of Consaw and lump hammer made it fit.
Lots of rubbing on the aluminium bits with 1200 waterpaper plus metal polish followed by lacquer.
Tinfoil + Water to remove rust from chrome -

    To be done:
    Strip and powder coat frame
    New front wheel
Respray / replace, triple tree / clocks
Take it for a long spin somewhere where they drive on the other side of the road.

    Jesus, what happened? you ok?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 513 ✭✭✭dMaN24

Crashed into a car in front. Rolled of the bike into oncoming traffic. My helmet graced the front wheel, and my left foot was runover by his rear wheel.

Bruised foot and broken clavicle. Been off the bike for almost a month.
The bike will cost about the same to repair as i paid for it.

And i can't sleep on my right side. :(

broke my left clavicle last september playing football, had a really slow healing to it, its still sore now when i play matches. some people heal from it really quickly, i think sitting at home playing playstatioon with a boguey arm every day might have slowed mine!!!

Well wear. Not mad on the tail on them but prefer those colours to the blue & white. Savage bike all the same!

Was looking at a few 400's, none of them were this tidy.....it's just for a short commute and some local runs, reckon the 25o will be ok (famous last words!)

Here she is! I'm like a frickin kid at christmas, just picked her up :D

    KEQNWh.jpg

So so happy, she's a beast! 2005, 8,000kms, carbon everywhere and a RaceFit exhaust that sounds incredible. The guy who owned it before me took really good care of her, replaced lots of bits and bobs on it. Lovely to drive, even though it's a massive step up for me she's not scary to drive, although the power is savage and I've barely taken it past 6k rpm - and it revs to 13k! Will be taking it very easy for the first while to get used to it - but she's not difficult to handle. Best of all, it only cost me €1,500 to upgrade - for a much bigger & nicer bike - in better condition with half the mileage!

I do ride my bike every day to work etc but I have not been on a proper rideout into wicklow etc in ages - must get one organised!
