Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Agreed, love the hornet, comfy, easy to ride, great sounding motor, especially in the power band. Buying rear tyres for them is the only thing I don't like.

Some more pics of the CB550 from my other thread. They're from a few years ago. I bought it on eBay from a guy in Bournemouth for £302 (Winning Bid!) in 2004 and did a fair bit of work to it in the following years, but it's been sitting since 2015 which is making me feel a little guilty looking at the pics.

    Respray tank and side panels.
New decals for tank and side panels -
    Petsealed the tank
    Replaced front forks
Replaced rear wheel and brake stator plate.
    New brake shoes and pads.
Replaced the black steel Dunstall exhaust with an original 4 into 1. They're as scarce as hens teeth and I paid a fortune for it in the US
Rebuilt Carbs - not a complete success to date as we've seen... :o
    New coils and leads
Polished and lacquered all the aluminium bits.

Absolutely lovely, looks very clean and unmolested. Tell us about it? Have you any planned mods or works underway?

    Nice choice.
I almost bought the 1200 version a few years back but couldn't agree on a warranty deal with it so left it.

I'm not sure if I put this up before but here's the full line up.
I know I put up the 3 Aprilias before.
Giving up smoking and cutting back on the drink has paid for most of that lot.

No competition with which I'd rather!

Only have it a few days, nice clean bike alright, been looking for a stock bike in original condition for a while so will probably keep it that way. Plenty of power as it is, kinda need me license for my job 😁

When yizzer consider that most of the world's population will never own a single motorcycle, having that many bikes is just selfish :pac:

Interesting choice madbev. I'm six foot so have my pick of pretty much anything, yet I hate those sitting bolt upright bikes. I like something I can tuck down into. The Sprint ST didn't fit the bill and the SV1000 doesn't quite either, the seat is too close to the bars, I'd like something I can stretch out more on.

Fùcking thing drinks fuel like there's no tomorrow as well, I'm barely getting 10km a litre around town!

    Scrap the cap!

I've owned the old 85 V-max for the last 20 years, when you have a bike so long it becomes a keeper...
